Profile: Alan Stubbs

Alan Stubbs was officially unveiled as St Mirren this afternoon - joining the club on a three year deal.

This will be the 46-year old's third job in first team management, after spells with Hibs and Rotherham.

His playing career saw him turn out for Bolton, Celtic, Everton, Sunderland and Derby County and make almost 600 senior appearances, winning five major trophies and two promotions in the process.

The Englishman began his coaching career at Everton in 2008, working with their U21 squad before moving on to become manager of Hibernian in 2014. In his first season with the Edinburgh side, Stubbs guided them to a second place finish in the Championship.

He guided Hibs to the play-offs once again in his next season in charge whilst also leading the Hibees to the League Cup final and an infamous Scottish Cup victory - the club's first in over a century.

Stubbs left the Hibees to take over at English Championship side Rotherham in 2016, but parted ways with the club after a few months in charge.
