The St Mirren Reserves went top of the SPFL Reserve League on match day one after a thumping 5-0 win over Dundee United at the Simple Digital Arena.
Allan McManus' side were in total control throughout the 90 minutes and more than deserved the emphatic win.
The Buddies set the tempo earlier opening the lead with just two minutes played. The Dundee United defence failed to deal with a Conor O'Keefe cross allowing Jeff King to side-foot home from the edge of the box.
The English winger doubled his and Saints' tally on 22 minutes when he was on hand to tap home a Cammy MacPherson ball across the box.
The visitors had the ball in the net just before half-time, but they were denied by the far side linesman's flag.
Saints made it three just a few minutes after the interval when Cody Cooke slid the ball underneath United goalkeeper Josh Donaldson's legs from close range.
Three became four on the hour mark when King added an assist to his two goals. He raced to the byline and cut the ball back to meet Scott Glover who arrived in the six-yard box to finish.
Less than 10 minutes later, Glover added his second of the game after receiving a through ball from Sam Jamieson.
The scoreline could have been more emphatic for Saints had further strikes from Cooke and Jamieson not been denied by the offside flag.
However, despite an impressive performance and scoreline, the game ended on a sour note when Saints goalkeeper Danny Rogers had to be stretchered off after picking up what seemed to be a knee injury.
Up next for the Buddies will be a trip to the Hummel Training Centre in Auchenhowie on Monday to face Rangers.
