Saints travel through to Edinburgh on Saturday to face table-topping Hearts at Tynecastle.
While the full-back accepts it will be a difficult match, he hopes Saints can put in a performance.
He said: "We need to improve and really work hard this week as we try to put things right this Saturday.
We need to put things right very quickly. But I know we will, we have a good bunch of lads, a good manager, and good coaches and we will work hard.
"We have a tough game against Hearts but we need to put things right and I am confident we will.
"We need to put that behind us and as a team produce a right good performance against Hearts."
Hodson made his first appearance of the season on Saturday and while he was pleased to get a full 90 minutes under his belt, he
It was nice to get 90 minutes," he said.
"But as a player I am always disappointed when I lose. I hate losing games and that feeling is horrible. As a team we felt how that felt on Saturday and we don’t want that to happen again.
"I actually thought we started quite well and played some good football, got in good positions but we never really had the quality or the composure in the final third to score.
"We knew set pieces were one of their strengths. They are a big team and they like to lump balls into the box, they also have long throws so from the back they are going to lump it up to their forwards."
"It is disappointing because you never want to lose games. It was two set pieces we conceded from and it was sloppy from us and we need to do better. We will look over the clips and see where we can do better."
