St Mirren manager Oran Kearney has paid tribute to the departing Jimmy Nicholl after the 62 year-old joined Dundee following the expiry of his Saints contract.
Jimmy joined Oran Kearney’s backroom staff in November when he became first team coach and played a vital role as the club managed to avoid relegation from the Ladbrokes Premiership.
Oran said: "I want to thank Jimmy for all his support during his time at the club.
"His experience of Scottish football was important for me when I came into the club and he played a significant part in helping keep the club in the Premiership.
"He’ll be a big miss, not just to myself, but to the players also with whom he had built a strong rapport and was a popular figure.
"The agreement was always that Jimmy would be here until the summer and we would re-assess then.
"It’s a new opportunity for Jimmy and it goes without saying that everyone at the club wishes him all the best in his new role."
