As the international break comes to a close, we reflect on the number of Saints players representing their country throughout the world.
Scotland
St Mirren were represented across a number of age groups for Scotland – ranging from U18s to the full squad.
Declan Gallagher joined up with the Scotland squad last week for the first time in over a year and was on the bench during matches against Republic of Ireland and Ukraine. Steve Clarke's men secured promotion to the top tier of the Nations League - as well as a EURO 2024 play-off spot - after topping Group B1.
Jay Henderson was a late call up at U21 level and came on as a substitute in Scotland’s 1-1 draw with Northern Ireland at the SMiSA Stadium on Sunday.
Kieran Offord scored twice for Scotland U19s when they came from behind to defeat Malta 3-1 last week. Offord also featured as a substitute in the U19s' matches against Croatia (0-2) and USA (1-2).
Dylan Reid captained the Scotland U18s in their matches against Poland, France and Estonia during a mini friendly tournament in Limoges, France. Although there were defeats to Poland and France in the opening two matches, the U18s finished with an impressive 4-1 victory over Estonia.
Australia and New Zealand
Keanu Baccus and Ryan Strain received their first caps for Australia – squaring off against Saints teammate Alex Greive and his New Zealand side.
None of the three featured in the first match as the Socceroos defeated the All Whites 1-0 in Brisbane, but all three came on as substitutes in the return match in Auckland with Australia 2-0 winners.
It was a seventh New Zealand cap for Greive, while Baccus and Strain will be hoping to have put themselves in contention for a place in Australia's World Cup 2022 squad.
Cyprus
Alex Gogic featured for Cyprus in their 1-0 win over Greece in the UEFA Nations League. The utility man came on as a substitute in the 75th minute and helped his country to a historic win.
However, a 5-1 loss to Kosovo on Tuesday night means Cyprus will enter the relegation play-offs. Gogic came on in that match in the 59th minute with Cyprus already 4-0 down.
