Alex Greive created a piece of Saints history as he overtook Iain Munro and the late Billy Thomson to become the most capped player while at St Mirren.
The 23-year-old forward was a second-half substitute for the All Whites in their 0-0 draw against China in Auckland. That took Greive to eight caps for New Zealand - all of which have come during his time at Saints – beating Munro and Thomson’s record of seven for Scotland.
We congratulate Alex on writing himself into the history books of the club.
With six caps, Alex Gogic could also overtake Munro and Thomson if he makes appearances for Cyprus against Scotland on Saturday and Armenia on Tuesday. Keanu Baccus - currently away on international duty with Australia - would go level with Munro and Thomson if he plays in both of the Socceroos' "Welcome Home" matches against Ecuador.
