St Mirren Football Club is delighted to announce the loan signing of Stav Nahmani from Maccabi Haifa until the end of the season subject to a work permit and international clearance with the option to make the transfer permanent.
At the age of 20, Stav has made 62 appearances in the top division in Israel as well as 21 appearances with the Israel national teams at various age groups up to U21 level.
In the 2019/20 season, Stav was selected as the Most Valuable Player of the U19 league and in May 2020, made his senior debut for Maccabi Haifa at 18 years old. He also had experience of continental football with Maccabi in the UEFA Europa League in 2020.
In season 2022/23, the forward was on loan to Beitar Jerusalem until January and had another loan spell at Hapoel Hadera before returning to Maccabi Haifa at the end of the season.
Manager Stephen Robinson said: "Stav came to us through the same contacts that we got Ryan Strain from Maccabi Haifa.
He’s a young player that’s come through the Israeli age groups.
He’s got a great work ethic and he gives us real raw pace running in behind.
"We hope he can add goals to our team and pace in the forward areas. He’s a real exciting one that can play in a couple of areas across the forward areas."
