St Mirren Football Club is delighted to confirm that Toyosi Olusanya has agreed a one-year contract extension with the club that will keep him at Saints until summer 2025.
The 26-year-old forward joined the club in summer 2022 from English Championship side Middlesbrough on an initial two-year deal that was due to expire at the end of the season.
Toyosi told stmirren.com: "I'm very pleased.
I love it here with the boys, the manager and the fans together it feels like home.
"The manager told me he believes in me and what he wants me to continue doing. I feel like he has got so much out of me as a player and a person so I was really happy to sign the new deal and continue working under him."
Toyosi made his debut in the Viaplay Cup against Arbroath in July 2022 but a toe injury meant he would found game time limited during his first season at Saints and, ironically, he would join the Red Lichties on loan in January 2023 until the end of the 2022/23 season.
The forward returned to the club ahead of the 2023/24 season and scored his first goal for Saints when he netted the winner in our Viaplay Cup group stage match away to Cowdenbeath in July. Toyosi would then score on our cinch Premiership opening day win away to Hibernian in August. He has followed that up with a further two goals, with those coming in February at home to Dundee and in Tuesday night's 1-1 draw with Ross County.
He becomes the latest player to extend his stay at Saints after defender James Bolton also agreed a one-year extension last month.
Manager Stephen Robinson added: "I think Toyosi has got better and better.
"At the moment he is coming off the bench and causing real problems and his goal now is to break into the team and become a starter which we feel he can do.
He's a super kid," the manager continued. "He's a lovely boy around the place. He's certainly a big asset to us and one we're delighted to sign."
