St Mirren Football Club can confirm that James Bolton has joined English League Two side Fleetwood Town for an undisclosed fee subject to clearance.
Despite signing a one-year contract extension in February, James made clear his desire to move back to England for family reasons.
In his season at St Mirren, James made 26 appearances, 15 of which were starts, and scored one goal.
Manager Stephen Robinson said: "James made it clear he wanted to leave the club for family reasons so we have managed to get the best possible deal for the club and player. We thank James for his efforts and wish him good luck in the future."
