St Mirren Football Club can confirm that Lewis Jamieson has joined Raith Rovers on loan until the end of the season, with the club retaining an option to recall in January.
The St Mirren Youth Academy graduate heads to the William Hill Championship side to gain vital playing time to aid his development.
The forward has made 36 appearances for the Saints first-team and now joins up with the Kirkcaldy side on a temporary transfer.
Manager Stephen Robinson said: "We’re very much trying to develop our young players. There are two ways to do that: either by playing in the first team or by getting them really good loan deals. I believe Raith is a very good loan for him.
Lewis needs to play football at his age and he's going out with the view of coming back as a first-team player.
"The system we are playing this season doesn't really suit him so it's important we continue his development and get him games at a really good level."
Lewis' loan follows fellow academy graduate Kieran Offord, who joined Crusaders FC on a season-long loan in June. Offord has scored two goals in the NIFL Premiership side's opening two league matches, leading them to 1-0 wins over Glentoran and Ballymena.
Everyone at the club wishes Lewis all the very best during his time out on loan.
