St Mirren Football Club recently received a letter from the Erskine Care Home for veterans thanking supporters for their efforts in donating to a bucket collection.
The collection, organised by the St Mirren Fans Council, took place at the Paisley 2021 Stadium ahead of the match against Dunfermline on the 19th of November 2016 and raised £127.23 for the charity.
In a letter addressed to the club, Morgan Dorrian of Erskine said: "On behalf of everyone at Erskine, thank you all at St Mirren Football Club for allowing us to hold our recent bucket collection which raised £127.23 - not bad for such a cold night!
"Every donation we receive helps us to continue to care for around 1,000 veterans and their spouses each year across our four homes. Your generosity makes a huge difference and ensures that we can provide a broad range of support and activities that enrich our veterans' lives."
The club would like to thank all the fans who donated and the St Mirren Fans Council who helped organise the collection.
