St Mirren took a shock lead at Celtic Park when Harry Davis struck from close range after just 13 minutes.
Saints almost doubled their advantage early in the second half when a Stevie Mallan free kick came off Moussa Dembele and cannoned off the underside of the cross bar.
But Celtic started to find their rhythm with the help of substitutes Patrick Roberts and Leigh Griffiths. The Hoops scored twice in a minute to go ahead before goals from Dembele and Griffiths rounded off their victory.
