Harry Davis looks set to be out of action until the end of the season after picking up an injury in last night's match against Dundee United.
The defender, on-loan from English League Two side Crewe Alexandra, went down in the first half with a dislocated knee cap.
Davis, who scored his third goal for the Saints in the win over United last night, will travel down south tomorrow to visit a specialist.
Manager Jack Ross said: "Obviously it's a huge blow for the player as he's come in and really established himself, becoming a real fans favourite. It's disappointing for us as well as he has settled well and been a really good addition to the squad. I've spoken with him and he's still really keen to be at as many matches as he can be, hopefully starting with the cup final next weekend."
Everyone at St Mirren wishes Harry a speedy recovery.
