Visitor Information

  • Electronic Ticketing System

At the SMiSA Stadium we have an electronic ticketing system in place at the turnstiles.

The process of using the system is fairly straight-forward and easy to use:

    • On entering the turnstile you will see the ticket reader.
    • Place your match ticket (with the barcode or QR code facing upwards) or smartcard – into the aperture
    • Once the ticket/smartcard is accepted into the system the green light will illuminate and an audio alert will sound after which you should hear the turnstile being unlocked
    • Push the turnstile gate and enter the stadium as you normally would.

The whole process will only take a few seconds.

Please note that there will be stewards in attendance to help where required.

  • Street Parking on Matchday

The Club has been made aware of problems occasioned by inconsiderate parking in the area of Tannahill Road.

Seemingly supporters are parking despite the presence of double yellow lines and as a consequence local bus routes are also being blocked because streets in this area are narrow and fans are parking on both sides. People, many of whom are elderly, are having to walk from Greenhill Road to their homes because buses can’t get access.

Residents who have cars parked in driveways are experiencing similar difficulties getting their vehicles in and out. On being approached by local residents some supporters have been somewhat aggressive which could lead to confrontation.

St Mirren Football Club strives to be a good neighbour and we would ask that ALL supporters attending the stadium not only park in accordance with local parking restrictions but also give consideration to the needs of local residents by parking sensibly so as not to occasion an unnecessary obstruction.

  • Picking Up & Dropping Off by Car on Match Day

We are also aware of problems with patrons parking at the front of the Main Stand to pick up disabled supporters at the end of the game. This area is a 'no parking' zone on match days (with cones on the road) and has to be kept clear for emergency access. It is an inappropriate location for disabled spectator uplifts, as not only does it cause an obstruction on the road, it also causes a danger to pedestrians leaving the stadium.

Please note that the designated pick-up/drop off points are either in Drums Avenue or the two lay-byes on Ferguslie Park Avenue.

  • Finding the SMiSA Stadium

  • Getting to the SMiSA Stadium

    BY ROAD

Follow signs for Paisley & Glasgow Airport. Exit the M8 at Junction 29 (St James’ Interchange) which is just after Glasgow Airport turn off if travelling east to west. Be careful not to exit on to the A737 which is signposted for Irvine. It is best to stay in the middle lane when passing the Airport as this leads naturally to the St James’ Interchange exit.

At the interchange take the first left onto a dual carriageway with some football parks on the left hand side. Follow this road and after a sharp right hand bend you should now be in Greenock Road. Then take your first right on to Clark Street and drive to the end of the street which is the junction with Greenhill Road, turn left and you will see the stadium on the opposite side of the road.

    BY RAIL

Get train from Paisley Gilmour Street to Paisley St James – exit from the station is straight onto Greenhill Road where the stadium is facing you. To plan your journey by rail with Scotrail please click HERE.

    BY BUS

Most buses will stop at Paisley Cross or Mill Street, from both you will see the Paisley Town Hall. From the Town Hall cross the High Street towards the Piazza Shopping Centre, when acoss walk towards the town centre until you come to Gilmour Street. Turn right on to Gilmour Street and walk towards the railway station which is about 150 yards away. From there you can get train to Paisley St James or if you prefer to walk the following routes are advised by the police:

Home fans: cross road to the left on to St James Street – follow through up Underwood Road then turn right at Greenhill Road where stadium is 200 yards further along the road. Access to the Main Stand is from Greenhill Road and the South and West Stands will be accessed from Drums Avenue.

Away fans: cross road to Love Street continue up the street till you come to Albion Street where you will turn left. Match Report: Celtic 4-0 St Mirren

St Mirren were beaten in their first league game of 2019 as we fell to a 4-0 loss to Celtic at Celtic Park.

Two goals in the space of six first half minutes from Oliver Burke and Scott Sinclair had the league leaders in control going into the interval before Burke and substitute Timothy Weah added goals in the second half.

There was very little between the two sides in the opening 10 minutes, though the hosts were enjoying the lion's share of possession.

Celtic were awarded a free kick on 11 minutes when 17 year-old Ethan Erhahon tugged back James Forrest as the winger tried to burst down the right side. Ryan Christie whipped the free kick into the six yard box where Burke, who peeled away from his marker, met the ball with his head and guided towards goal. Vaclav Hladky got two hands on it but couldn't get enough on it to keep the ball out of the net.

A few minutes later, St Mirren were temporarily reduced to ten men when Lee Hodson came out the worst in a 50/50 with Ryan Christie. Jim Kellermann was primed to come on but before he could make his way on to the park Celtic were awarded a penalty. Stephen McGinn caught Scott Sinclair as the English winger drifted into the box from the left. It was Sinclair who stepped up and dispatched into the left hand corner of the net.

Celtic could have made it 3-0 on 25 minutes when Mihai Popescu played the ball straight to Forrest. Forrest played it through to Burke who held the ball up before picking out an unmarked Callum McGregor. The midfielder drove into the box but somehow blasted over from close range.

As half time approached Stephen McGinn sent an effort from outside the box into the arms of Celtic goalkeeper Scott Bain.

Celtic extended their lead 10 minutes in to the second half. Hladky had make a good double save to deny Forrest and then McGregor, but the Saints defence couldn't react to the danger and Burke was on hand to follow up to make it 3-0.

Both sides made changes as the game wore on. Cody Cooke and Jim Kellermann, both of whom seemed to have picked up knocks, made way for Simeon Jackson and Kyle McAllister, while Timothy Weah and Ewan Henderson replaced Burke and Christie for the hosts.

The substitution of Weah highlighted Celtic's strength in reserve and the young American almost made an immediate impact as he found himself one-on-one with Hladky, but the Czech goalkeeper produced a great save to turn the effort by the post.

Weah did add his name to the scoresheet though with less than five minutes remaining. He got on the end of a Ewan Henderson through pass and slid the ball low beyond Hladky to round off a difficult night for Saints.

Match Preview: Celtic v St Mirren

St Mirren make the short trip to Celtic Park for our first Ladbrokes Premiership match of 2019.

FORM

Saints got the year started on Saturday with a dramatic 3-2 win over Alloa Athletic to progress to the Fifth Round of the William Hill Scottish Cup.

The Buddies fell 1-0 behind when Alan Trouten struck for the visitors. Saints were then reduced to 10 men when Brad Lyons was giving a second yellow card for perceived simulation. The Wasps doubled their lead a few minutes later courtesy of a cracking strike from Kevin Cawley.

But Oran Kearney's side roared back in the second half with Cody Cooke, Ethan Erhahon and Kyle McAllister scoring in a 19 minute spell to cap a remarkable comeback and send Saints through.

Celtic's 2019 began with a routine 3-0 victory over League One side Airdrieonians at Celtic Park on Saturday. Scott Sinclair scored twice with Timothy Weah grabbing a third to see Celtic add their name to the hat for the next round.

Saints' last match in the Ladbrokes Premiership came at the end of 2018 with a narrow 2-1 loss away to Kilmarnock. Celtic ended 2018 with a defeat also - 1-0 against Rangers at Ibrox.

The Buddies picked up their first away win in the league last month when Simeon Jackson's second half goal gave us a 1-0 win over Motherwell at Fir Park. Celtic, meanwhile, have won nine of nine league games at home this season scoring 26 goals, conceding just four.

PREVIOUS

St Mirren and Celtic have met once this season, back in September for Oran Kearney's first match as Saints manager.

The Buddies impressed that night at The Simple Digital Arena as we battled to a 0-0 draw with Brendan Rodgers' side.

Tonight's visit to Celtic Park is Saints' first since a Scottish Cup tie in March 2017. The Buddies caused Celtic a scare - going 1-0 up through Harry Davis and coming inches away from doubling the lead in the second half when a Stevie Mallan free kick was deflected off the underside of the bar. But goals from Mikael Lustig, Scott Sinclair, Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths sent Celtic through to the semi-final.

Saints' last league visit to Celtic Park came over four years ago with Gary Teale taking charge of the Buddies for the first time. Sean Kelly scored for St Mirren on 10 minutes to cancel out Scott Brown's early goal, but the Hoops again ran out 4-1 winners.

St Mirren's last win over Celtic was the 3-2 semi-final win at Hampden on our way to League Cup glory back in 2013. Our last league win against the Hoops was the famous 4-0 win at the Simple Digital Arena in 2010 where Andy Dorman and Steven Thomson hit doubles.

WHAT A WIN WOULD MEAN

St Mirren could move up to 10th place above Hamilton this evening if we defeat Celtic and Hamilton fail to beat Aberdeen.

Celtic, who sit top level on points with Rangers but ahead on goal difference, will be looking for three points to keep them at the top of the pile.

TEAM NEWS

Saints will still be without Danny Mullen, Kyle Magennis, Danny Rogers, Cammy MacPherson and Gary MacKenzie due to injury.

Jim Kellermann could return to the Saints squad after receiving international clearance following his loan spell at Fylde AFC.

Celtic are missing Kieran Tierney, Leigh Griffiths, Daniel Arzani and Eboue Kouassi while new signing Vakoun Issouf Bayo has yet to receive international clearance.

Brad Lyons appeal successful

St Mirren Football Club is pleased to confirm that we have successfully appealed Brad Lyons’ second yellow card from Saturday’s Scottish Cup tie against Alloa Athletic.

The midfielder was shown a second booking for perceived simulation. But following a hearing this morning, the booking has been overturned meaning Brad will be available for our Fifth Round tie against Dundee United.
