Kyle Hutton has joined Airdrieonians on an emergency loan until January.
The midfielder signed for the Saints in the summer and has made 17 appearances for the club.
However, first team starts have been limited recently and the player has decided to join the Ladbrokes League One side on loan to get more game time.

John Sutton believes that tonight's match against Spartans won't be easy and says that some of the results from the Scottish Cup ties that went ahead on Saturday proves that.
The striker knows about tonight's opposition and once scored against them for St Mirren back in 2006 when the Saints beat the East of Scotland side 3-0 in a replay at Paisley after having drawn 0-0 the first match.
Yeah it's tricky," he explained. "You only have to look at the results at the weekend. I think some junior teams got a replay and certainly others ran teams pretty close. It's not going to be an easy game.
"I know from my time playing at Hearts that Spartans have a very good setup and will have a very professional outlook on it. It's up to us to go and beat that."
Sutton was speaking to stmirren.com at the St Mirren Training Complex in Ralston after picking up the IRN-BRU Golden Balls Player of the Round for his role in the 2-1 victory over Ayr United in the IRN-BRU Cup quarter-final a few weeks ago. He admitted it was frustrating not to play on Saturday as the team looked to bounce back from the loss to Dunfermline, but hopes the side can take inspiration from their form in the IRN-BRU Cup.
It was disappointed not playing on Saturday," he said. "You what a home draw in the cup which is what we got. We've gone on a good run in the IRN-BRU Cup and had some good results in there so we're hoping that the Scottish Cup will put us on a good run as well and we'll see where that takes us."
Speaking on the award from IRN-BRU, the striker said: "I'd much rather be picking up a winners medal in the final.
But it's nice that we got through the round and I'm only getting on the end of crosses that other boys are putting in the box.
"I was lucky enough to play in the last [Challenge Cup] final we won and winning that was a brilliant feeling. We're not too far away from having another shot at that."
While Sutton thinks that the addition of the Irish and Welsh sides to the competition has been a good thing, he isn't taking semi-final opponents The New Saints lightly.
I think it's been a really good idea having the Irish and Welsh teams in there. I think it adds spice to the occasion.
"You look at some of the big teams who have been out of the Premiership the last couple of years and they've not always done so well in this competition, so I think it shows how hard it is to win anything.
"We know TNS are going to be a very good side. They've dominated in Wales or certainly been at the top for many years now. It's going to be a test for us, but one we are looking forward to."

St Mirren fans can purchase their tickets (subject to availability) at the St Mirren Ticket Office until kick-off (8:00pm).
We also now have a Ticket Booth sited at the West Stand beside turnstiles T11-14 on a match day. The Ticket Booth is only for the purchase of tickets (subject to availability) for the West Stand, and also the pick-up point for pre-ordered tickets for the West Stand. For this cup tie we are offering a special family ticket for £18 which consists of 1 adult and 3 under 12 tickets. This ticket cannot be bought online, it can either be purchased at the Ticket Office in person or over the phone. This offer is available for both stands and to both sets of fans.
Following the success of the mixed family section we hosted at last season's Scottish Cup tie against Partick Thistle, we are going to do this again for this tie.
The deadline has now passed for Season Ticket holders to be guaranteed their seats for this match so all remaining available seats will now be sold on a first come first served basis.

The Club has been made aware of problems occasioned by inconsiderate parking in the area of Tannahill Road.
Seemingly supporters are parking despite the presence of double yellow lines and as a consequence local bus routes are also being blocked because streets in this area are narrow and fans are parking on both sides. People, many of whom are elderly, are having to walk from Greenhill Road to their homes because buses can’t get access.
Residents who have cars parked in driveways are experiencing similar difficulties getting their vehicles in and out. On being approached by local residents some supporters have been somewhat aggressive which could lead to confrontation.
St Mirren Football Club strives to be a good neighbour and we would ask that ALL supporters attending the stadium not only park in accordance with local parking restrictions but also give consideration to the needs of local residents by parking sensibly so as not to occasion an unnecessary obstruction.
We are also aware of problems with patrons parking at the front of the Main Stand to pick up disabled supporters at the end of the game. This area is a 'no parking' zone on match days (with cones on the road) and has to be kept clear for emergency access. It is an inappropriate location for disabled spectator uplifts, as not only does it cause an obstruction on the road, it also causes a danger to pedestrians leaving the stadium.
Please note that the designated pick-up/drop off points are either in Drums Avenue or the two lay-byes on Ferguslie Park Avenue.
BY ROAD
Follow signs for Paisley & Glasgow Airport. Exit the M8 at Junction 29 (St James’ Interchange) which is just after Glasgow Airport turn off if travelling east to west. Be careful not to exit on to the A737 which is signposted for Irvine. It is best to stay in the middle lane when passing the Airport as this leads naturally to the St James’ Interchange exit.
At the interchange take the first left onto a dual carriageway with some football parks on the left hand side. Follow this road and after a sharp right hand bend you should now be in Greenock Road. Then take your first right on to Clark Street and drive to the end of the street which is the junction with Greenhill Road, turn left and you will see the stadium on the opposite side of the road.

BY BUS
Most buses will stop at Paisley Cross or Mill Street, from both you will see the Paisley Town Hall. From the Town Hall cross the High Street towards the Piazza Shopping Centre, when acoss walk towards the town centre until you come to Gilmour Street. Turn right on to Gilmour Street and walk towards the railway station which is about 150 yards away. From there you can get train to Paisley St James or if you prefer to walk the following routes are advised by the police:
Home fans: cross road to the left on to St James Street – follow through up Underwood Road then turn right at Greenhill Road where stadium is 200 yards further along the road. Access to the Main Stand is from Greenhill Road and the South and West Stands will be accessed from Drums Avenue.
Away fans: cross road to Love Street continue up the street till you come to Albion Street where you will turn left. Follow Albion Street until you come to the junction with Greenock Road where you will turn right. Cross the road then walk about 200 yards before taking your first left on to Clark Street. Walk straight up Clark Street to the end of the street which is the junction with Greenhill Road, turn left and you will see the the stadium on the opposite side of the road. Access to the North Stand will be from Ferguslie Park Avenue.
St Mirren’s run of four home games in a row comes to an end tonight as the Buddies play host to Spartans in the third round of the Scottish Cup.
The match was originally scheduled for Saturday but was called off due to an issue with the under soil heating at the Paisley 2021 Stadium.
Saints come into this game on the back of a disappointing 1-0 loss to Dunfermline in the Ladbrokes Championship which leaves the side still looking for that elusive first league win of the season.
However, it’s been a different story in cup competition with St Mirren picking up six wins out of seven cup matches this season.
Most recently the Saints defeated Ayr United 2-1 to seal a place in the semi-final of the IRN-BRU Cup with John Sutton scoring a quick fire double after the away side had taken the lead. That has set up a semi-final tie with Welsh side The New Saints in February.
Meanwhile, Spartans come into the match in good spirits on the back of a win over Lowland League leaders East Kilbride. Jack Hay's first half goal gave Spartans the victory and ended Kilby’s world record 30 wins in a row.
Saints and Spartans have only ever faced each other in the Scottish Cup, with the East of Scotland outfit holding the Buddies to a 0-0 draw back in February 2006. The replay, less than two weeks later, was a different story though as St Mirren ran out 3-0 winners back at Love Street. John Sutton opened the scoring that night before goals from Charlie Adam and Ian Maxwell sealed it for the Buddies.
The winners of tonight's meeting will face Ladbrokes Premiership side Dundee at Dens Park in the fourth round, with that match scheduled to take place on the weekend of the 21st/22nd of January.
The winners of tomorrow night's match between St Mirren and Spartans will face a trip to the City of Discovery to face Dundee in the next round of the Scottish Cup.

Jack Ross says he hopes that his players can begin tomorrow night's game at a high tempo as the Saints take on Spartans in the Scottish Cup.
The manager believes his side have ended matches stronger than they have started them and hopes that the Saints can begin well against the Lowland League side and maintain it over the 90 minutes.
Speaking to stmirren.com ahead of the match, Ross said: "I think whatever happens tomorrow and whatever result we achieve we won't get a great deal of credit for it because you're expected to go and win the game.
But I think the players should look at that as a positive because there should be an expectation for them at this club to go and win games week in week out.
"The biggest challenge for us to start games at the tempo that we are finishing games. The recent games against Dunfermline and Ayr United in particular we've played well and we've played with a good intensity and we need to start games like that."
That's not all that the manager wants to come from tomorrow's match as he admitted he hopes the team can use it to try and get into the habit of winning matches.
The Saints are looking to make it seven wins out of eight cup matches this season and hope a win will give the team a boost going into the next stretch of league matches.
We just need to get into the momentum of winning matches," he said.
"I would like us to keep strengthening the things we are doing well. We need to start keeping clean sheets, regardless of the opposition we are playing, and there's a lot of small targets within the game.
"We feel as if, in recent weeks, we've put a lot of quality balls into the box and haven't scored as many goals as we probably should have.
"We know we have good quality in the wide areas from Lewis Morgan and Kyle McAllister and the quality they have in their delivery and it's something we need to use to our advantage."

Following the postponement of Saturday's game against Spartans, supporters will have until the 10th of December to claim a refund if they bought a ticket and can't make tomorrow night's rearranged match.
For those who paid in cash you would have to come down to the ticket office to claim the refund, whilst those who paid online can phone the ticket office (0141-840-6130) or send an email to tickets@stmirren.com
The Family Stand will be closed for tomorrow night's match, along with the North Stand. Anyone with a ticket for the Family Stand will be able to use their ticket to access the other stands.
A pitch inspection took place at the stadium at 12:30pm today.
Due to a problem with the under soil heating the pitch has been declared unplayable and so regrettably tomorrow's match against Spartans has been postponed.
We are investigating the cause of the problem and will meet with our insurers next week to see if the repairs are covered under our policy of insurance.
