Supporters provide 3,276 meals for people in need in Renfrewshire

Supporters provided an incredible 1376kg of food at a foodbank collection before our recent home match against Hamilton Academical in the Ladbrokes Premiership.

The donations will provide 3,276 meals for people in need in Renfrewshire.

In the generous bid to help feed those less fortunate in the Renfrewshire area, both sets of fans donated the food - along with St Mirren players and staff, after the Renfrewshire foodbank put together a list of items that is was particularly short on.

The Renfrewshire foodbank provide a three day supply of food for individuals and families in crisis for as long is required. As well as receiving nutritionally balanced, non-perishable food parcels, their volunteers will also take the time to offer all who attend a cup of tea or coffee and listen to them talk about their circumstances which is an essential part of making the visit a positive experience.

In response to the overwhelming effort from the fans, the Renfrewshire foodbank wrote a letter to St Mirren supporters thanking them for the collection as the number of people needing help from the local foodbank continues to increase.
