We have an excellent volunteer squad who kindly clean up the stands in the SMiSA stadium after each match. But they need your help to recycle the waste effectively.
Zero Waste Scotland is kindly providing assistance on how we can make positive steps to effectively manage waste and reduce our carbon footprint. Here are a few of their reasons why recycling is so important:
- Reduces the amount of waste sent to landfill (meaning less landfill tax for Scotland)
- Keeps valuable resources in the country which is good for the Scottish economy
- Creates jobs in Scotland
- Less litter and pollution
- Reduces the need for extracting, refining and processing raw materials
- Turns rubbish into something useful
