Up Next: Motherwell v St Mirren (2nd Apr)

St Mirren's final away game before the cinch Premiership split takes place on Saturday as Saints travel to Motherwell.

Both teams still harbour ambitions of a top six finish and know a win is vital in keeping up the chase for one of the remaining positions.

The two sides sit on 36 points - just one point off fifth and sixth placed Hibernian and Livingston.

Saints go into Saturday's match having been agonisingly beaten in the final moments of our game against Dundee United before the international break. However, it was a last minute goal in the prior league match against Dundee that gave Stephen Robinson his first win as St Mirren manager as Connor Ronan scored in a 1-0 win at the Kilmac Stadium.

Meanwhile, Motherwell have yet to win a league match in 2022 with Graham Alexander's men on a run of 11 league games without victory. The Steelmen also lost out to a last minute goal in a 2-1 defeat to St Johnstone prior to the international break.

Previous

Saints have faced the Steelmen twice this season - with neither side being separated as both ended in draws.

Eamonn Brophy scored twice at Fir Park in October as the Buddies came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2.

Alex Gogic scored a late header on his debut at the beginning of February which looked to have given Saints all the points when Motherwell visited the SMiSA Stadium. But Ross Tierney scored an injury time goal to give the Lanarkshire side a share of the spoils.

St Mirren have only lost one of their last nine against Motherwell. In that run Saints have won three times (all at Fir Park) and drawn the other five.
