Saints return to cinch Premiership action on Saturday with a trip to Kilmarnock.
It's a quick turnaround for Stephen Robinson's men following Wednesday night's Viaplay Cup Quarter-Final defeat to Hibernian at Easter Road. Scott Tanser and Keanu Baccus netted for Saints, but it wasn't enough as we fell to a 4-2 defeat that saw our 10 match unbeaten run come to an end.
The Buddies are, however, still unbeaten after six league matches and sit second in the cinch Premiership following four wins and two draws from our opening six.
Kilmarnock also exited the Viaplay Cup with a 2-1 loss to Hearts at the BBSP Stadium, Rugby Park on Tuesday night. Ex-Saint Brad Lyons brought Killie level after falling behind to the Jambos in the first-half, but an injury-time goal saw the Ayrshire side eliminated from the competition.
Derek McInnes' side sit in eighth place in the cinch Premiership on six points after one win, three draws and two losses from their first six matches. Killie defeated Rangers 1-0 on the opening day of the season and have followed that up with draws against Hearts (0-0), Hibernian (2-2) and Dundee (2-2) and defeats to Motherwell (1-2) and Ross County (0-1).
