Up Next: St Mirren v Kilmarnock (27th Dec)

It's our final home match of 2023 as we face Kilmarnock at The SMiSA Stadium on Wednesday night.

Saints' home form has been strong this season with five wins, three draws and just one defeat from our nine home league matches this season. That was supplemented by three home wins from three in the Viaplay Cup.

Despite our strong home form, Kilmarnock leapfrogged the Buddies in the cinch Premiership on Saturday after their 2-1 win at Rugby Park against St Johnstone. That result - coupled with a 2-0 St Mirren defeat to Hearts at Tynecastle - saw Derek McInnes' men move into fourth place in the league. With just a point separating the two sides, a St Mirren win on Wednesday night would see the Buddies move back ahead of Kilmarnock.

Previous

The only meeting of the two this season ended in a 1-1 stalemate in September as Kyle Magennis' own-goal gave Saints a share of the spoils at Rugby Park after Brad Lyons had put the hosts ahead.

Kilmarnock defeated Saints on their last visit to The SMiSA Stadium in April with goals from Liam Donnelly and Christian Doidge giving the Ayrshire side a 2-0 victory.

Our last league win over Kilmarnock came in February 2021 with Saints winning 2-0 at The SMiSA Stadium thanks to goals from Kyle McAllister and Jon Obika.
