St Mirren host Norwegian side SK Brann at The SMiSA Stadium in the UEFA Conference League Third Qualifying Round.
It's the second time Saints have taken on Norwegian opposition in European competition having faced Tromso IL in 1987. A Kenny McDowall goal was enough to give us a 1-0 first leg win at Love Street in the UEFA Cup Winners Cup before a 0-0 draw in Norway saw us progress.
Stephen Robinson's men set up Thursday night's match after an emphatic 4-1 win over Icelandic side Valur at The SMiSA Stadium last week.
Shaun Rooney opened the scoring in our win against Valur - scoring our first European goal in 37 years

The Opposition
SK Brann progressed to the Third Qualifying Round after a 2-1 aggregate win over Dutch side Go Ahead Eagles. After a 0-0 draw in the first leg, the Norwegian side had to come from behind after an early goal from Go Ahead. But goals from Bård Finne and Frederik Pallesen Knudsen saw Bergens stolthet qualify.
Eirik Horneland's side currently sit second in Eliteserien - seven points behind leaders Bodø/Glimt. Brann have won nine and drawn six of their 18 league matches this season and come into Thursday's match on the back of a 3-2 win away to Strømgodset on Sunday.
23-year-old forward Aune Heggebø is Brann's top scorer this season with nine goals in 24 appearances. Brann recently lost their captain Sivert Heltne Nilsen after he signed a three-year deal with Aberdeen in July but centre-half Knudsen, who scored the winner against Go Ahead Eagles, has since picked up the armband.

From the Manager | "We want to be the best version of St Mirren"
Speaking to the press ahead of Thursday night's match, manager Stephen Robinson said: "No game is a free hit.
"We want to win the game and we’ll certainly set out to win the game.
"We’ll do what we do but we want to do it better. Every time we go away to Rangers or Celtic we don’t want to change systems and play about with things, we want to be the best version of what we do.
And that’s what we need to be tomorrow: the best version of St Mirren. The best version of the team that we put out and the players we bring on.
"I believe we can get a result."
