Dundee United reached the round of 16 as one of the best group stages runners up. The Arabs finished second in Group B behind Championship side Falkirk. Jim Goodwin's side lost 2-0 to the Bairns in their opening match, but bounced back with wins over Stenhousemuir (3-0), Ayr United (2-1) and Buckie Thistle (5-2).
United's return to the William Hill Premiership has saw them draw their opening two league fixtures. An opening day Dundee derby finished 2-2 at Tannadice, while they were held to a 1-1 draw away to Ross County last Saturday.
