The Opposition
Dundee have had a strong start to their season, having won one and drawn two of their opening three William Hill Premiership fixtures this season and progressing in the Premier Sports Cup.
Tony Docherty's side picked up a point after a 2-2 draw in an opening day derby clash away to Dundee United. The Dee followed that up with a 3-1 victory at home to Hearts the following weekend. They come into Saturday's match off the back of a 2-2 draw with Hibernian at Easter Road with Simon Murray's late goal ensuring a share of the spoils for the Dee.
Dundee secured their passage into the quarter-finals of the Premier Sports Cup with an emphatic 6-1 win over Championship side Airdrieonians.
The last meeting between Saints and Dundee was in May at the Scot Foam Stadium. Alex Gogic, Scott Tanser and Toyosi Olusanya all netted to have the Buddies 3-0 up. Despite Michael Mellon pulling one back for the hosts, Saints ran out deserved winners in what was manager Stephen Robinson's 100th match in charge.
