Jamie McCart was full of praise for the St Mirren support after making a winning start to life at Saints on Sunday.
The defender, who has joined the Buddies on an emergency loan until December, was given his debut in Sunday's 3-1 win over Queen of the South.
While it may seem a daunting prospect for a young player to be thrown into a team he had only joined two days earlier, the 20 year-old confessed one training session was enough for him to get acquainted with his teammates.
Speaking to stmirren.com after the weekend win that moves Saints back up to second place, McCart said: "I really enjoyed it.
The main thing was to get the three points and to do it in such a great ground was brilliant for me.
"I thought we handled them well as a back four and we won't face many tougher than that in the Championship. We were disappointed not to get the shut out, but the three points was the main thing.
"As soon as I came in everyone was very welcoming. I knew after the first training session what the manager's philosophy was and what the players around me were like. It wasn't difficult for me.
"I just want to play well, try to stay in the team and help the team get victories. If I am lucky enough to play then hopefully I can contribute to the team and see where we are when I leave.
Despite being rescheduled for TV coverage, a crowd of 3023 turned up at the Paisley 2021 Stadium to cheer on both sides.
And the loanee can't wait to be back in front of the Paisley faithful for this weekend's match against Brechin City.
It was a brilliant experience playing here," he said.
"The atmosphere was incredible and the fans were right behind us. It's exciting times and to be playing week-in, week-out would be great for me.
"We'll have a good week of training and then be back here fighting to get another victory."
