St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin hailed his side's "complete performance" following this afternoon's 2-0 win over Kilmarnock.
Kyle McAllister's first-goal of the season gave Saints a half-time lead, before Jon Obika netted his 20th St Mirren goal just after the hour mark.
Dean Lyness, deputising for the suspended Jak Alnwick, also kept a clean sheet in his first Saints start in over two years to cap off a good day's work for the Buddies.
Speaking after the match, Jim Goodwin said: "I'm delighted with the result and another three points on the board, but I thought today was the most complete performance we've had for a number of weeks.
We've had glimpses of performances of late where we've had a good opening 45 and maybe sat off the second-half or sometimes the other way around. Today, I thought the players put in a really good professional performance from start to finish. There wasn't one below par performance.
"Dean Lyness was excellent in goal - not that he had too many saves to make because of how well the boys in front of him defended. But what he had to do he did it really well. Every single department in the team all contributed hugely today and I thought we got our deserved win."
Today's victory made it three wins from four for Saints and the manager hopes that another three wins before the split will help the Buddies achieve a first-ever top six finish in the SPFL.
The boys are in a real good place mentally and there's lot of positivity around the club and we just have to try and maintain that.
"We've got eight games [until the split] and I still think we need at least three wins. I think if we get those three wins it puts us on 41 points and I hope that number will be enough to guarantee sixth place."
