Ryan Alebiosu is raring to go after joining up with Saints in a deadline day move from K.V. Kortrijk.
The 23-year-old defender arrived in Scotland late last night after agreeing a loan move from the Belgian Pro League side until the end of the season.
Ryan was thrust straight into it this morning, training with his new teammates for the first time.
Speaking to stmirren.com, Ryan said: "Everyone was welcoming.
There is a good bunch of players here all thriving for the same goal. It was good to see them today and hopefully we can build a connection and get going.
"I had been speaking to the gaffer for a few days before the window closed. He told me about the project here and I thought it was a great project to be a part of.
The manager wants me to use my speed going forward and get up and down the flanks. He wants me to provide an attacking threat and be solid defensively too."
Stephen Robinson admitted yesterday that Ryan was a player he has tried to sign before.
Now the defender is hoping to repay the manager's faith in him.
"The gaffer has been keeping an eye on me for a while and has tried to get me in in the past.
It obviously didn't work out previously, but knowing he wants me here really gives me confidence. I want to give my all for him and show what I can do.
"There is a good bunch of players, good lads and a good environment. I can't wait to get started."
Ryan returns to Scottish football after a stint with Kilmarnock during season 2022/23 and he feels his experience since then will help him hit the ground running.
"Scottish football is more physical and that's what I experienced before when I was younger at Kilmarnock.
"I've had more experience since then so I just can't wait to kick on and get myself ready."
