Visitor Information

  • Electronic Ticketing System

At the SMiSA Stadium we have an electronic ticketing system in place at the turnstiles.

The process of using the system is fairly straight-forward and easy to use:

    • On entering the turnstile you will see the ticket reader.
    • Place your match ticket (with the barcode or QR code facing upwards) or smartcard – into the aperture
    • Once the ticket/smartcard is accepted into the system the green light will illuminate and an audio alert will sound after which you should hear the turnstile being unlocked
    • Push the turnstile gate and enter the stadium as you normally would.

The whole process will only take a few seconds.

Please note that there will be stewards in attendance to help where required.

  • Street Parking on Matchday

The Club has been made aware of problems occasioned by inconsiderate parking in the area of Tannahill Road.

Seemingly supporters are parking despite the presence of double yellow lines and as a consequence local bus routes are also being blocked because streets in this area are narrow and fans are parking on both sides. People, many of whom are elderly, are having to walk from Greenhill Road to their homes because buses can’t get access.

Residents who have cars parked in driveways are experiencing similar difficulties getting their vehicles in and out. On being approached by local residents some supporters have been somewhat aggressive which could lead to confrontation.

St Mirren Football Club strives to be a good neighbour and we would ask that ALL supporters attending the stadium not only park in accordance with local parking restrictions but also give consideration to the needs of local residents by parking sensibly so as not to occasion an unnecessary obstruction.

  • Picking Up & Dropping Off by Car on Match Day

We are also aware of problems with patrons parking at the front of the Main Stand to pick up disabled supporters at the end of the game. This area is a 'no parking' zone on match days (with cones on the road) and has to be kept clear for emergency access. It is an inappropriate location for disabled spectator uplifts, as not only does it cause an obstruction on the road, it also causes a danger to pedestrians leaving the stadium.

Please note that the designated pick-up/drop off points are either in Drums Avenue or the two lay-byes on Ferguslie Park Avenue.

  • Finding the SMiSA Stadium

  • Getting to the SMiSA Stadium

    BY ROAD

Follow signs for Paisley & Glasgow Airport. Exit the M8 at Junction 29 (St James’ Interchange) which is just after Glasgow Airport turn off if travelling east to west. Be careful not to exit on to the A737 which is signposted for Irvine. It is best to stay in the middle lane when passing the Airport as this leads naturally to the St James’ Interchange exit.

At the interchange take the first left onto a dual carriageway with some football parks on the left hand side. Follow this road and after a sharp right hand bend you should now be in Greenock Road. Then take your first right on to Clark Street and drive to the end of the street which is the junction with Greenhill Road, turn left and you will see the stadium on the opposite side of the road.

    BY RAIL

Get train from Paisley Gilmour Street to Paisley St James – exit from the station is straight onto Greenhill Road where the stadium is facing you. To plan your journey by rail with Scotrail please click HERE.

    BY BUS

Most buses will stop at Paisley Cross or Mill Street, from both you will see the Paisley Town Hall. From the Town Hall cross the High Street towards the Piazza Shopping Centre, when acoss walk towards the town centre until you come to Gilmour Street. Turn right on to Gilmour Street and walk towards the railway station which is about 150 yards away. From there you can get train to Paisley St James or if you prefer to walk the following routes are advised by the police:

Home fans: cross road to the left on to St James Street – follow through up Underwood Road then turn right at Greenhill Road where stadium is 200 yards further along the road. Access to the Main Stand is from Greenhill Road and the South and West Stands will be accessed from Drums Avenue.

Away fans: cross road to Love Street continue up the street till you come to Albion Street where you will turn left. Follow Albion Street until you come to the junction with Greenock Road where you will turn right. Cross the road then walk about 200 yards before taking your first left on to Clark Street. Walk straight up Clark Street to the end of the street which is the junction with Greenhill Road, turn left and you will see the the stadium on the opposite side of the road. Access to the North Stand will be from Ferguslie Park Avenue.

The match will be shown live on Viaplay and ticket arrangements will be announced for this match in due course.

The fixture details are below:

Celtic v St Mirren
Scottish Cup
Venue: Celtic Park, Glasgow

Kick-off: 5:30pm

Marcus Fraser agrees contract extension until summer 2025

St Mirren Football Club is delighted to confirm that Marcus Fraser has agreed a two-year extension to his contract which keeps him tied to the club until June 2025.

The 28-year-old defender has been an important part of the squad since signing for Saints in July 2020 following the expiry of his contract at Ross County.

Marcus has made 112 appearances during his time at the SMiSA Stadium with his milestone 100th appearance coming in a 2-1 win over Livingston in October. He will now look to the next milestone following the extension of his contract.

Manager Stephen Robinson said: "I'm delighted to get Marcus' deal over the line. He has arguably been one of my best defenders all season.

"What is important is stability," he continued. "That's Marcus and Greg [Kilite] both signed and we have other players under contract for next season. Hopefully that gives us a base to build from going forward."

Eamonn Brophy joins Ross County on loan until the end of the season

St Mirren Football Club can confirm that Eamonn Brophy has joined Ross County on loan until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old forward joined us in January 2021 – initially on loan – before completing a three-year deal that summer. He has scored eight goals in his 58 appearances at the club.

In line with terms of the loan agreement, Eamonn will be ineligible to face Saints when we host Ross County at the SMiSA Stadium on Saturday 18th February.

Manager Stephen Robinson: "In an ideal world we would have liked to have had Eamonn stay. But given he hasn't been playing regularly this is a good opportunity for him to go and get game time and as a club we also have to consider the financial aspects of the deal. We wish Eamonn well during his time at Ross County."

Lewis Jamieson returns from loan at Airdrieonians

Lewis Jamieson has been recalled from his loan spell with Airdrieonians.

The 20-year-old - who made his St Mirren debut in August 2020 - returns to the squad after a productive spell at the cinch League One side where he scored eight goals in 18 matches for the Diamonds.

Lewis has also spent time on loan over the past two seasons with Clyde and Inverness Caledonian Thistle as part of his footballing development.

Manager Stephen Robinson commented: "Lewis has been out and done well at that level. He's scored goals and now it's a case of bringing him back into the first-team environment again.

"He needs to get stronger and fitter and that's his challenge between now and the end of the season. He's certainly got a lot of talent and he's someone we want to work with and want to succeed. Now it's up to him because we'll give him all the tools to do that."

Toyosi Olusanya joins Arbroath on loan until the end of the season

Toyosi Olusanya has joined cinch Championship side Arbroath on loan until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old signed for St Mirren from English Championship side Middlesbrough in June 2022, but an injury earlier in the season has curtailed his opportunities with the winger having made just five appearances for Saints.

Manager Stephen Robinson said: "Toyosi has been out for three or four months with an injury and we felt it was a good opportunity for him to go out and play 15 games at a good level in the Championship.

"We also have an eye on getting Toyosi ready for next season. He hasn't played a lot of football over the last year and he'll benefit from playing at a good level with a good club."

We wish Toyosi all the best in his time at Arbroath.

Up Next: St Mirren v Motherwell (28th Jan)

St Mirren are back in cinch Premiership action on Saturday with Stephen Robinson welcoming his former club to the SMiSA Stadium.

Saints return to league duty after securing their place in the Fifth Round of the Scottish Cup with a penalty shoot-out win over Dundee. Trevor Carson was the hero for the Buddies - saving all three of Dundee's penalty to set up a meeting with Celtic in the next round.

The Buddies will be looking to keep up their good home form with Stephen Robinson's men unbeaten in their last 11 matches at the SMiSA Stadium.

Motherwell also progressed in the Scottish Cup with a 2-0 win away to Arbroath on Saturday. That was the Steelmen's first win since a 1-0 victory over Dundee United in October.

Steven Hammell's side currently sit in ninth place in the cinch Premiership - seven points behind Saints, but three clear of bottom side Ross County.

Previous

The two sides met on the opening day of the 2022/23 season with Motherwell coming out on top 1-0 thank to a Kevin Van Veen penalty.

That result remains Saints' only defeat at home in the league this season with Stephen Robinson's side unbeaten in our 11 home matches since.

The Buddies were due to face Motherwell at Fir Park a week before Christmas but that match was postponed due to extensive damage and flooding.

Our last win against Motherwell came in December 2020 when Jamie McGrath scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory at Fir Park.

The officials

The referee on Saturday is John Beaton. His assistants are Calum Spence and David Doig. Colin Steven is fourth official.
