SMiSA St Mirren FC Director Applications

As you may be aware, SMiSA need to appoint a new director to represent the society on the board of St Mirren Football Club as Alex White has confirmed he will step down at the December St Mirren FC AGM, meaning a position to be one of our four SMiSA nominated directors on the club board has become available. Alex has made a significant contribution during his three years as a Director, and SMiSA would once again like to thank him for all he has done during his tenure for both SMiSA and St Mirren Football Club.

SMiSA are now calling for anyone interested in becoming a candidate for this position to apply. You can do this by emailing applications@smisa.net to declare your interest. Applicants who declare interest will receive an application pack containing informative documents about the process and role. They will also receive an application form. The closing date for applications to be submitted is Friday 15th November at 5pm.

New SMiSA appointments to the club board are subject to the formal recruitment process SMiSA has put in place. This will see the SMiSA board shortlist and interview those who best fit the job description, and select a preferred candidate who the members will then be asked to approve. It is preferred that candidates are already SMiSA members, however all applications will be considered. Interview dates and timings will be further discussed with candidates who are successful in the sifting process relating to their application and progress to the interview stage.

The successful candidate will be expected to act as the link between the club and SMiSA boards, ensure member views are considered in club decisions and have the skills and experience to make a positive contribution to the running of the football club.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with: jackmc@smisa.net

Brann Stadion

Brann Stadion was built in 1919 but has since been modernised several times. A new stand was erected in 2006 and opened in May 2007. The pitch is natural grass.

How to get to Brann Stadion

The local bus company Skyss offers several services to the ground. Brann Stadion is located approximately four kilometres south of the city centre. The best alternative is the city tram (Bybanen) passing Brann Stadion both from the south (from Bergen Airport) and the city centre (from Byparken). The station to leave the tram is called Brann Stadion.

If you are arriving directly from the airport, you can take the tram directly to Brann Stadion. By car/taxi it takes 25 minutes if there's no heavy traffic.

It’s recommended that all away fans meet at the bar called Fotballpuben, which will serve food and drink. For those fans without tickets, you will be able to watch the game in this venue.

Buses will shuttle fans with tickets from Fotballpuben to the supporters area from 5pm. Please be ready to leave at this time otherwise you will have to make your own way to the stadium. Please note that it is not possible to walk to the stadium due to the road structure in Bergen.

The area where away fans will meet is approx. 200m from the stadium. The meeting point address is: Haukelandsveien 51. Fans will be escorted to the away turnstiles.

The buses will be at the away end to shuttle away fans back to the bar. Please be ready as soon as possible to be transferred back to bar.

Safety at the Stadium

Supporters without tickets are strongly advised not to travel to Brann Stadion on matchday.

Be cautious in large crowds and follow the instructions of local authorities and event staff. Respect local customs and laws. Avoid any behaviour that could be seen as disruptive or disrespectful.

Supporters are reminded that the use of pyrotechnics within sports stadia is illegal. Not only could this lead to your arrest, but the club may also be sanctioned by governing bodies such as UEFA.

Away section

Turnstiles will open at 5.45pm local time.

If you have concerns regarding access to the stadium, please contact slo@stmirren.com as soon as possible.
