Dumbarton
Queens Park

The format, announced in advance of the 2016 Betfred Cup, sees all drawn group stage matches go straight to a penalty shoot-out with the winners earning an extra ‘bonus point’ in addition to the traditional point given for a draw.

The eight group winners and four best runners-up progress to the last 16 where they are joined by holders Celtic and fellow European representatives Aberdeen, Rangers and Hibernian.

Paul McGinn signs with Saints

St Mirren are delighted to announce the signing of defender Paul McGinn.

Paul joins The Buddies from Partick Thistle - signing a contract that will see him in Paisley until the summer of 2020.

It's the full back’s second spell with Saints, after having already signed for the club once before back in 2012.

He was loaned out to Queens Park and Dumbarton during his tenure though and never managed to break into the first team at the time.

Paul will join up with his older brother, captain Stephen McGinn, as St Mirren look ahead to the Premiership season. The two have played together before, whilst at Dundee in 2015.

St Mirren Football Club can confirm that it has reached an agreement with Sunderland AFC in relation to manager Jack Ross.

Gordon Scott, the board of directors and everyone at St Mirren would like to thank Jack for the role he has played at the club since taking over as manager in October 2016.

Jack helped the club retain its place in the Ladbrokes Championship in his first year in charge when relegation to the third tier had seemed inevitable, before leading the club to the Championship title and promotion back to the Premiership.

The club would also like to express its gratitude to Jack for ensuring that St Mirren FC were protected at all times and commend his commitment to the job throughout periods of speculation.

We wish Jack every success in his new challenge at Sunderland.

We can also confirm that James Fowler will leave the club to join Jack at Sunderland. We would like to also thank James for his hard work and dedication in his time as assistant manager and wish him the best in the new challenge.

The St Mirren board has already began the formal process of recruiting a new manager and will keep supporters updated through official club channels.

Commercial Manager, Campbell Kennedy said: "I would like to thank RDA Consulting Ltd Director, Stephen Rowland who has today taken out trackside advertising at the stadium as well as sponsoring Ryan Flynn’s home shirt for the 2018/19 season."

Kellermann joins on with Buddies

St Mirren are delighted to announce the signing of 23 year-old midfielder James Kellermann today.

Kellermann comes to Paisley from Aldershot Town, having previously been on the books at Wolverhampton Wanderers as a youngster.

He signs on a two year deal, as The Buddies look to strengthen for the Premiership campaign ahead.

As manager Jack Ross is away on holiday, James Fowler spoke about the signing of Kellermann.

He said: "He's one we've been tracking for a while. He got brought to our attention by Martin Christie, our Head of recruitment, about two or three months ago. So he is one we have monitored towards the end of the season, and we got up and spoke to him and we were really impressed.

"He's at a good age for us as well, he is one of the ones who we think can improve as well and get better and he will add competition to the boys we have already got.

"He's a bit of an all-rounder. He's a box-to-box midfielder, he can score goals, he can spot a pass, he's got good aggression. He's different to what we've got and he adds a different dimension as well. He's one we are looking forward to working with."
