Win the chance to have lunch with the manager and a player of your choosing!

When 2020/21 St Mirren FC Season Tickets went on sale the club wished to add more value to owning a season ticket by entering supporters into exclusive draws to win some incredible ‘money can’t buy’ prizes.

So far we’ve had a supporter guaranteed that they will be the first person to own our new 2020/21 home strip, while two young supporters will get the chance to the stadium announcers at a match when it is safe to do so and another supporter will have the West Stand named after them for a match next season.

Our latest prize winner will be announced this coming Tuesday (14th July). One lucky winner will be a guest of Jim Goodwin, and a player of their choice, for a visit to St Mirren Park followed by lunch in the hospitality suite.

We’ll have more incredible prizes up for grabs and the only way to ensure you’re in with a chance of winning is to buy your 2020/21 season ticket. Get yours now!

COVID-19 Week 17 Update (7th July 2020)

As a club we continue to plan for the new season ahead. The new fixture list for season 2020/21 gives us the opportunity to test ourselves right from the kick-off and this is a challenge the team is looking forward to. Our new signings have settled into training with the team and our testing process is now established. We continue to have no adverse cases affecting any of the squad. Check out the footage of the team in training.

Season ticket sales continue to grow and over 2400 have already been sold. This shows magnificent levels of support from you, the fans, and we are always grateful for your commitment to the club. We confirmed previously that season ticket holders will be able to watch all home games online as part of their season ticket package whilst we have games held behind closed doors or socially distanced. This will be accessed through our new St Mirren TV platform. The club will be contacting season ticket holders in the next few weeks to ensure accurate information is held to allow this to take place as seamlessly as possible.

The new kit is nearly here. The supply chain has been significantly slowed down by the ongoing pandemic, however we anticipate having these in the post w/c 20th July . Thank you all for your patience, we are very nearly there!

We are slowly reintroducing staff back into the stadium in preparation for the new season in a safe and controlled manner. One of the additional benefits of this is that it will allow us to make faster progress in issuing the individual numbers to everyone as part of the Be in that Number Campaign. We have currently issued over 1800 and will be working hard over the next week or so to issue the rest of the numbers.

And finally

With the continued progress towards the return to normality in most of our personal lives and in football we felt it was an appropriate time to make this the last specific Covid-19 update.

As a football club we would not survive without our supporters and never has this been more transparent than over the last 17 weeks.

Because of your support over the last four years and beyond the club continues to be in a solid financial position to get through this crisis and come out the other end even stronger.

Because of your support in buying new season tickets and not asking for refunds on last years, in continuing to pay 1877 club memberships, in pre-ordering our new strip and with the continued support from our commercial sponsors we have had the confidence to start to sign players who will help continue our progress on the pitch and achieve our aim to compete at an even higher level this season. We have also been able to continue our pursuit of Elite level academy status at a time when many clubs have had to consider the future of their own academies.

Because of your support of the St Mirren Charitable Foundation throughout this crisis they were able to provide much needed aid to people in need as well as supporting local residents and charities.

Because of all those SMiSA members who have continued to pay their subscriptions during this time of immense hardship we remain on track to become fan owned in 2021.

Because of all these things, on behalf of The St Mirren Football Club, we humbly thank you all.

Nathan Sheron joins the Buddies on a season-long loan

St Mirren Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Nathan Sheron on a season-long loan from English side Fleetwood Town.

The midfielder joins Saints until the end of the season with his parent club having the option to recall to January.

Nathan played at youth level for Liverpool before turning professional at Fleetwood Town. The 22 year-old made 26 appearances at Fleetwood in League One during the 2018/19 season, while spending a portion of last season on loan at Walsall.

Nathan becomes our third signing of the summer and will wear the number six jersey for the season ahead.

Speaking to stmirren.com after putting pen-to-paper, Nathan said: "I'm really looking forward to it.

I've had nothing but good vibes from the club and it's a really exciting time for myself.

"I got off the phone with the gaffer and he really sold the club to me. It was brilliant and I'm really looking forward to working with him.

"I'm a defensive midfielder. I'll work hard, I'll get myself stuck in and put up a fight."

Saints gaffer Jim Goodwin was delighted with the signing of the 22 year-old and believes he’ll be a hit with the fans.

Nathan is coming to us as a holding midfielder but he can play at centre-half and he has played at right-back in the past also.

"I felt last season that we were missing someone in the middle of the pitch that could be disciplined, that can sit in front of the back four, break things up and be difficult for the opposition to play against.

"He’s got great legs, he’s got great energy and I think the supporters will love what they see.

"Nathan’s a great addition and hopefully another couple more to come after that in the not too distant future."

Nathan Sheron will #BeInThatNumber. Will you? 2020-21 Season Tickets are on-sale now.

Get back in the ground with St Mirren fans at the game

We’re all missing being at the football.

Even when football returns it’s not quite going to be the same, because for a while yet Saints supporters won’t be able to make noise and get behind the team.

For that reason, we’re delighted to announce that we are giving you a chance to get back in the ground, with the launch of Fans At The Game.

We’ve teamed up with The Football Company, to give you an opportunity to have your own recyclable, waterproof cut-out displayed proudly in the stands.

You may have seen this elsewhere, and if so may know how it works. But in very simple terms, all you need to do is:

  • Visit our Fans At The Game website.
  • Agree to the T&Cs
  • Use on mobile device native browser (Apple/IOS Safari or Android Chrome)
  • Allow your mobile device camera to take a picture
  • Make sure you fit in the silhouette
  • Approve your picture – boom!
  • Make your secure online payment – it costs £20 per cut out

*Please note this is only available on Apple or Android mobile devices.*

After that your cut-out is produced, delivered to St Mirren Park, and installed. Before you know it, you’ll get back in the ground, and be a fan at the game once more.

Watch out across our social media channels, as we’ll be sharing pictures once we start to fill the stadium.

We know it’s not the real thing, and we cannot wait until St Mirren Park is packed with supporters, but for now this is a great way to support your club. Every supporter really counts!

FAQs

How does it work?

We’ve teamed up with The Football Company to deliver brand-new technology that enables supporters to take a picture, complete a transaction and for that to be printed on uniform silhouette shaped cardboard. This works best on mobile devices using the native platform of the device eg; IOS/Safari or Android/Chrome.

What devices or browsers does it work on?

Fans At The Game works on mobile because it’s a much easier experience to take a 'selfie’ We’ve tested it across multiple devices (smartphones, tablets) and it should work on most, as long as your software or browser version is up to date. If you find an issue, contact the club and we’ll try to help.

Can I upload a picture of my own?

No, unfortunately not. Each cut-out is based on an individual silhouette which is pre-set to fix standard seats you find in almost all UK stadiums. For that to work your face needs to fit the space we’ve designated for it.

Can I 'sit' in my 'own seat'?

We know this is something that plenty of supporters will ask. We’ve checked the viability of it, but in terms of being able to cope with demand the process of matching supporter to a specific seat is extremely time consuming. Clubs may also decide that they want fans to sit in what is known as the 'TV arc' (i.e. the part you see in front of the cameras). For that reason, we’re unable to offer this option.

Who is taking the payment?

Your payment is taken by The Football Company (Scotland) Limited via their own payment provider, which is owned and controlled by NatWest. In the unlikely event that you have a payment issue you should contact sales@thefootballcompany.tv and one of the team will come back to you quickly. All orders will come with an email receipt.

How does the club make money?

Every week The Football Company runs a reconciliation, advise the club the commission earned and make a direct payment. It’s a quick process, which is extremely helpful for the club.

Is my data secure?

Yes, absolutely. The Football Company have built a model which minimises the data required to be collected. Further access to that data is only provided for different parts of the fulfilment journey. For example, the printers will only have your first and last name, your order ID and the club. Everything has been built on Amazon Web Service (AWS) which is regarded as the gold standard for creating secure digital platforms.

St Mirren FC 2020/21 Home and Away kit available to pre-order

St Mirren home and away jerseys for season 2020-21 are available to pre-order on our St Mirren E-Store.

Working with our partners Joma for a fourth season in a row, our home jersey returns to our traditional look featuring five black stripes which pay homage to our current club crest. The back of the home shirt will be plain black with gold detailing. We also return to a red away jersey following last season’s striking pink and black shirt.

It was in the 1950s that St Mirren began wearing a club crest on our strips with a badge that was a variation of the Paisley Burgh Coat of Arms. Many variations of the badge existed over the next 40 years but all prominently featured a castellation effect at the top.

However, in 1996, following a decision from the Lord Lyon in Edinburgh, who is responsible for Coats of Arms and Heraldic Crests, which said the Buddies could no longer use the castellation effect, St Mirren commissioned a new badge with five black stripes to mimic the mural crown of the burgh.

Home and away kits are available to pre-order with deliveries set to take place in July. Be one of the first to own yours by pre-ordering now on our St Mirren E-Store.

Kyle Magennis named as new club captain

St Mirren Football Club is delighted to announce that Kyle Magennis has been named as new club captain.

Kyle takes over from Stephen McGinn who departed the club following the expiry of his contact.

The 21 year-old captained the side last season when McGinn wasn't selected and will now take on the armband permanently.

A product of the St Mirren Youth Academy, Kyle, who has made 107 appearances for Saints, said on social media: "Delighted to be given this opportunity at this great club. It’s a massive honour for me and for my family given that I joined this club at five years old.

"Hopefully we can all be together soon and look forward to a successful season."

It was also announced yesterday that Sam Foley has been named as vice-captain.

COVID-19 Week 15 update (23rd June 2020)

As a club we are planning for the new season ahead, on the field we have announced two new signings in Richard Tait and Jak Alnwick who are both #InThatNumber. Our first team including the new signings have returned to training this week and the hard work for these guys really begins now. Our testing process is up and running and all players are well with no cases affecting the team. Click on the link for a look at the team in action today.

Off the field we continue to work with our partners to deliver a system that will allow season ticket holders to watch any home league game held behind closed doors on our platform. More details on this will follow in the coming weeks as the season draws closer.

We have had a fantastic response to our new kit launch, we expect them to arrive in the country within the next few weeks and will be ready for collection and sales shortly after this. We will update on this as soon as dates become clearer.

Our season tickets sales continue to show tremendous support from the fans and we have now passed 2000. Our latest winner was Mr James McCulloch who will have the West Stand named after him for one of the games in the 2020/21 season. In addition, James has been allocated the number 1877 as a special thank you.

The club would also like to recognise the grant made available to them via James Anderson and the SPFL Trust, this grant will be invaluable as we continue to progress our way out of these difficult times.

And finally

We would like to offer a massive thank you to all season ticket holders for their support regarding the refund offered for the games that were cancelled last season.

We appreciate that not everybody could afford to allow the club to keep the money but less than 2% of season ticket holders asked for refunds. We believe that is the lowest uptake of any offer from a club in Scotland!
