Simple Digital Arena to host Scotland Women's U19s

The next generation of Europe’s star female footballers will be coming to Scotland this October, as the Scotland Women’s Under-19s step up their preparations for next year’s UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship with a tournament in their own backyard.

Spain, European champions at under-19 level in 2018, will join France and Denmark in travelling to Scotland for the event, with two of the matches taking place at The Simple Digital Arena in Paisley.

The tournament will act as invaluable preparation for Scotland’s Under-19s as they look towards next year’s UEFA European Championships – a tournament for which they qualify automatically as the host nation.

The matches taking place at The Simple Digital Arena are as follows:

MD1: Scotland v Spain – Wednesday, 3 October 2018, 7pm, The Simple Digital Arena, Paisley.
MD2: France v Scotland – Saturday, 6 October 2018, 1pm, The Simple Digital Arena, Paisley.

Entry to both matches is free so come along and give the Scotland Women Under-19s your support!

Matchday activities

We have another day of family fun planned this weekend at The Simple Digital Arena as St Mirren take on Hibernian in the Premiership.

Get down early to the Family Stand and have a go at the inflatable football darts game. Whoever gets the top score will win a signed St Mirren football!

We'll also have live music, balloon modelling, free sweets courtesy of Black and White Army, face painting, meet the panda and more!

So come along and get involved as Paisley Panda with support from SMiSA and the SMFC Fans' Council present a range of activities to improve the matchday experience for families and all younger Buddies.

St Mirren in the Community Update - Panda Club (Saturday 29th September)

Dean Lyness signs for Saints

St Mirren Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of goalkeeper Dean Lyness on a short-term deal.

Dean joins the club until January after having been training with the squad for a few weeks.

The Englishman began his career at Birmingham and has had spells in Scotland with Hearts and East Fife.

After returning to England he spent time with Kidderminster, Burton Albion, Blackpool and Nuneaton Town.

Speaking to stmirren.com, Dean said: "I've been in training for a while and obviously made an impression on the coaching staff.

"I got the call that the club was going to make me an offer and I'm delighted to get it sorted.

"I just want to make as best an impression as I can and make sure I am ready if the required."

Saints goalkeeping coach Jamie Langfield said: "It's something we had been looking at with Danny Rogers' injury.

"It was important to get someone in and we know he'd played at a good level.

"Dean has a great work rate and work ethic and impressed us."
