Visitor Information

  • Electronic Ticketing System

At the SMiSA Stadium we have an electronic ticketing system in place at the turnstiles.

The process of using the system is fairly straight-forward and easy to use:

    • On entering the turnstile you will see the ticket reader.
    • Place your match ticket (with the barcode or QR code facing upwards) or smartcard – into the aperture
    • Once the ticket/smartcard is accepted into the system the green light will illuminate and an audio alert will sound after which you should hear the turnstile being unlocked
    • Push the turnstile gate and enter the stadium as you normally would.

The whole process will only take a few seconds.

Please note that there will be stewards in attendance to help where required.

  • Street Parking on Matchday

The Club has been made aware of problems occasioned by inconsiderate parking in the area of Tannahill Road.

Seemingly supporters are parking despite the presence of double yellow lines and as a consequence local bus routes are also being blocked because streets in this area are narrow and fans are parking on both sides. People, many of whom are elderly, are having to walk from Greenhill Road to their homes because buses can’t get access.

Residents who have cars parked in driveways are experiencing similar difficulties getting their vehicles in and out. On being approached by local residents some supporters have been somewhat aggressive which could lead to confrontation.

St Mirren Football Club strives to be a good neighbour and we would ask that ALL supporters attending the stadium not only park in accordance with local parking restrictions but also give consideration to the needs of local residents by parking sensibly so as not to occasion an unnecessary obstruction.

  • Picking Up & Dropping Off by Car on Match Day

We are also aware of problems with patrons parking at the front of the Main Stand to pick up disabled supporters at the end of the game. This area is a 'no parking' zone on match days (with cones on the road) and has to be kept clear for emergency access. It is an inappropriate location for disabled spectator uplifts, as not only does it cause an obstruction on the road, it also causes a danger to pedestrians leaving the stadium.

Please note that the designated pick-up/drop off points are either in Drums Avenue or the two lay-byes on Ferguslie Park Avenue.

  • Finding the SMiSA Stadium

  • Getting to the SMiSA Stadium

    BY ROAD

Follow signs for Paisley & Glasgow Airport. Exit the M8 at Junction 29 (St James’ Interchange) which is just after Glasgow Airport turn off if travelling east to west. Be careful not to exit on to the A737 which is signposted for Irvine. It is best to stay in the middle lane when passing the Airport as this leads naturally to the St James’ Interchange exit.

At the interchange take the first left onto a dual carriageway with some football parks on the left hand side. Follow this road and after a sharp right hand bend you should now be in Greenock Road. Then take your first right on to Clark Street and drive to the end of the street which is the junction with Greenhill Road, turn left and you will see the stadium on the opposite side of the road.

    BY RAIL

Get train from Paisley Gilmour Street to Paisley St James – exit from the station is straight onto Greenhill Road where the stadium is facing you. To plan your journey by rail with Scotrail please click HERE.

    BY BUS

Most buses will stop at Paisley Cross or Mill Street, from both you will see the Paisley Town Hall. From the Town Hall cross the High Street towards the Piazza Shopping Centre, when acoss walk towards the town centre until you come to Gilmour Street. Turn right on to Gilmour Street and walk towards the railway station which is about 150 yards away. From there you can get train to Paisley St James or if you prefer to walk the following routes are advised by the police:

Home fans: cross road to the left on to St James Street – follow through up Underwood Road then turn right at Greenhill Road where stadium is 200 yards further along the road. Access to the Main Stand is from Greenhill Road and the South and West Stands will be accessed from Drums Avenue.

Away fans: cross road to Love Street continue up the street till you come to Albion Street where you will turn left. Follow Albion Street until you come to the junction with Greenock Road where you will turn right. Cross the road then walk about 200 yards before taking your first left on to Clark Street. Walk straight up Clark Street to the end of the street which is the junction with Greenhill Road, turn left and you will see the the stadium on the opposite side of the road. Access to the North Stand will be from Ferguslie Park Avenue.

Match Report: Motherwell 4-4 St Mirren (St Mirren win 3-2 on penalties)

St Mirren progressed to the quarter-finals of the William Hill Scottish Cup with a dramatic penalty shoot-out win over Motherwell at Fir Park.

An incredible first-half performance saw the Buddies deservedly 4-1 ahead at the interval and all but through to the last eight.

Unbelievably, Motherwell scored three goals in 17 second-half minutes to take the game to extra-time and ultimately penalties.

Jamie McGrath, Kyle McAllister and Jon Obika all netted from 12 yards while Motherwell's Liam Donnelly had his saved by Vaclav Hladky with Tony Watt and Jermaine Hylton also missing to see Saints set up a last eight clash with either Aberdeen or Kilmarnock who face each other tomorrow night.

Jim Goodwin's side started on the front foot and took the lead on 14 minutes when Saints number nine Obika grabbed his ninth goal of the season. Cammy MacPherson fed the ball out to the left to Ilkay Durmus who whipped in a stunning ball to meet Obika with the forward getting in between the Motherwell central defence to sweep home from close range.

Saints could have added a second 10 minutes later through Jamie McGrath. Alex Jakubiak did brilliantly to hold off two Motherwell players deep in the Well half. He slid a beautiful ball through to the Irishman who beat the offside trap but smashed at Well goalkeeper Mark Gillespie from a tight angle.

And just three minutes afterwards Motherwell found themselves level. An Allan Campbell shot from the edge of the St Mirren box was deflected by for a corner. Liam Polworth took but the Saints defence could only clear as far as the midfielder who was allowing to cut into the box before slamming a low drive beyond Vaclav Hladky to level.

The game would turn on its head again when the Buddies would score two goals in two minutes just after the half-hour mark. Obika scored his and Saints' second of the game on 31 minutes as the striker once again drifted in ahead of the static Well defence to side-foot home MacPherson's free-kick.

Saints barely had time to celebrate their second before stretching the lead further. Obika did so well on the counter to carry the ball from his own half to the edge of the Motherwell box. His attempt was blocked but fell kindly for stand-in skipper Sam Foley who had bust a gut to match Obika's run. Foley's shot was blocked by the feet of Gillespie but cannoned off Peter Hartley and into the net to make it 3-1.

Only a super stop from Gillespie denied St Mirren a fourth on 37 minutes when the Steelman goalkeeper got done to brilliant push away McGrath's effort from inside the box. But the fourth would come just before half-time as Foley got himself on the scoresheet. A low Durmus cross was only cleared as far as the midfielder who cut into the box and drilled home from 16 yards out to put St Mirren in dreamland heading into the break.

Motherwell started the second-half the stronger as they looked for a route back into the game and they found a goal 12 minutes into the second-half to make it 4-2 as Tony Watt scored his first for the Steelmen. The striker got the better of Conor McCarthy and Akin Famewo to knock beyond Hladky from close range.

The goal seemed to briefly awake St Mirren after a slow start to the second-half with Obika having a shot from the edge of the box deflected wide, before MacPherson's fizzing long-range effort was pushed away by Gillespie.

Motherwell were coming closer to a third and hit the post with 20 minutes remaining while Hladky had to make a good save to deny Polworth on the follow-up.

The warning signs were there for Saints and Motherwell made their pressure pay on 73 minutes when they added a third. Rolando Aarons' low cross from the right evaded everyone and somehow found its way into the back of the Buddies net.

And then, 60 seconds later, the unthinkable happened as Motherwell drew level. Campbell's attempted cross from the right took a deflection off Foley and sailed over the head of Hladky to make it 4-4.

The Steelmen continued to have the majority of the pressure as the game ticked towards extra-time with MacIver backheeling wide while a shot was blocked inside the Saints box with just over five minutes left.

In truth neither side did enough in extra-time to win the match with Durmus curling a free-kick into the arms of Gillespie while Hladky had to be alert to turn behind a Hylton shot at his near post. The Buddies could have snatched it in the final moments when substitute Tony Andreu beat the on-rushing Gillespie to the ball. It fell to Kyle McAllister who lobbed over the stranded goalkeeper only for Liam Donnelly to head off the line.

After 120 minutes it would take penalties to separate the two. McGrath netted the first for Saints, with Donnelly seeing his penalty saved by Hladky.

Saints failed to make it 2-0 in the shoot-out when Andreu smashed his penalty well over, but Tony Watt missed his penalty as the Buddies maintained their advantage.

MacPherson, who took the captain's armband following Foley's substitution, also missed from 12 yards as he was denied by Gillespie, while Motherwell levelled as Rolando Aarons scored.

McAllister and Polworth scored their penalties meaning it was 2-2 heading into the fifth penalty. Obika coolly stroked his spot-kick home meaning Hylton had to keep Motherwell in the match. The winger put his penalty over the bar allowing a relieved away support to celebrate.

Saints will now meet the winners of Aberdeen/Kilmarnock at the Simple Digital Arena on Saturday 29th February.

Match Preview: Motherwell v St Mirren (18th February)

Saints take on Motherwell with a place in the quarter-finals of the William Hill Scottish Cup up for grabs.

FORM

St Mirren - LDDDDL

Motherwell - LDLLDW

The Buddies were due to face Motherwell at Fir Park on Saturday in Ladbrokes Premiership action, but the weather conditions created by Storm Dennis saw the match postponed.

Both sides come into the match having lost narrowly last Wednesday in the Ladbrokes Premiership. Despite Jon Obika's eighth goal of the season, St Mirren were beaten 2-1 at Livingston, while a 93rd minute winner for St Johnstone saw Motherwell lose at McDiarmid Park by the same scoreline.

St Mirren's last win came in January in the William Hill Scottish Cup Fourth Round as the Buddies saw off Broxburn Athletic 3-0 at the Simple Digital Arena.

Motherwell's last win was also in January when Stephen Robinson's side defeated Aberdeen 1-0 at Pittodrie in the Ladbrokes Premiership.

PREVIOUS

This will be the fourth meeting of the two sides this season with Motherwell having won two

The two sides last faced off just 10 days ago in the match that set up tomorrow's replay.

Mark O'Hara opened the scoring for Motherwell in the first-half at the Simple Digital Arena, but Alex Jakubiak scored his first St Mirren goal with less than 20 minutes remaining to ensure Saints got another crack at qualification for the quarter-final.

St Mirren have travelled to Fir Park already this season when Jim Goodwin's men visited in October in Ladbrokes Premiership duty. The Steelmen ran out 2-0 victors with James Scott and Chris Long scoring either side of half-time.

TEAM NEWS

Gary MacKenzie, Kyle Magennis, Stephen McGinn and Ryan Flynn all remain out for Saints.

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson told the press yesterday that forwards Chris Long and Mikael Ndjoli will miss out for the Steelmen.

MANAGER'S THOUGHTS

"We plan and prepare the same way we always do.

"It's important to reiterate to the players that the game is on right up until the last minute. If the players are thinking the game is going to be off then it's hard to switch that mindset again. They have to be of the mindset that the game will be 100% on but I would expect the game to go ahead.

"Our preparation is the exact same. The meeting we had on Friday hasn't changed from the meeting we've had this week.

"It is really is a huge expense for fans and I honestly don’t know how some of them do it. There are three games in a week sometimes, £25 plus a ticket, it’s mega money. I take my hat off to them. Their level of commitment and passion for their teams is brilliant."
