Visitor Information

  • Electronic Ticketing System

At the SMiSA Stadium we have an electronic ticketing system in place at the turnstiles.

The process of using the system is fairly straight-forward and easy to use:

    • On entering the turnstile you will see the ticket reader.
    • Place your match ticket (with the barcode or QR code facing upwards) or smartcard – into the aperture
    • Once the ticket/smartcard is accepted into the system the green light will illuminate and an audio alert will sound after which you should hear the turnstile being unlocked
    • Push the turnstile gate and enter the stadium as you normally would.

The whole process will only take a few seconds.

Please note that there will be stewards in attendance to help where required.

  • Street Parking on Matchday

The Club has been made aware of problems occasioned by inconsiderate parking in the area of Tannahill Road.

Seemingly supporters are parking despite the presence of double yellow lines and as a consequence local bus routes are also being blocked because streets in this area are narrow and fans are parking on both sides. People, many of whom are elderly, are having to walk from Greenhill Road to their homes because buses can’t get access.

Residents who have cars parked in driveways are experiencing similar difficulties getting their vehicles in and out. On being approached by local residents some supporters have been somewhat aggressive which could lead to confrontation.

St Mirren Football Club strives to be a good neighbour and we would ask that ALL supporters attending the stadium not only park in accordance with local parking restrictions but also give consideration to the needs of local residents by parking sensibly so as not to occasion an unnecessary obstruction.

  • Picking Up & Dropping Off by Car on Match Day

We are also aware of problems with patrons parking at the front of the Main Stand to pick up disabled supporters at the end of the game. This area is a 'no parking' zone on match days (with cones on the road) and has to be kept clear for emergency access. It is an inappropriate location for disabled spectator uplifts, as not only does it cause an obstruction on the road, it also causes a danger to pedestrians leaving the stadium.

Please note that the designated pick-up/drop off points are either in Drums Avenue or the two lay-byes on Ferguslie Park Avenue.

  • Finding the SMiSA Stadium

  • Getting to the SMiSA Stadium

    BY ROAD

Follow signs for Paisley & Glasgow Airport. Exit the M8 at Junction 29 (St James’ Interchange) which is just after Glasgow Airport turn off if travelling east to west. Be careful not to exit on to the A737 which is signposted for Irvine. It is best to stay in the middle lane when passing the Airport as this leads naturally to the St James’ Interchange exit.

At the interchange take the first left onto a dual carriageway with some football parks on the left hand side. Follow this road and after a sharp right hand bend you should now be in Greenock Road. Then take your first right on to Clark Street and drive to the end of the street which is the junction with Greenhill Road, turn left and you will see the stadium on the opposite side of the road.

From the Town Hall cross the High Street towards the Piazza Shopping Centre, when acoss walk towards the town centre until you come to Gilmour Street. Turn right on to Gilmour Street and walk towards the railway station which is about 150 yards away. From there you can get train to Paisley St James or if you prefer to walk the following routes are advised by the police:

Home fans: cross road to the left on to St James Street – follow through up Underwood Road then turn right at Greenhill Road where stadium is 200 yards further along the road. Access to the Main Stand is from Greenhill Road and the South and West Stands will be accessed from Drums Avenue.

Away fans: cross road to Love Street continue up the street till you come to Albion Street where you will turn left. Follow Albion Street until you come to the junction with Greenock Road where you will turn right. Cross the road then walk about 200 yards before taking your first left on to Clark Street. Unacceptable Conduct at the Paisley 2021 Stadium

As a Club we are of the opinion that every fan deserves the right to enjoy their football without listening to constant torrents of abuse being hurled at the players, officials and other supporters.

We appreciate that we all have our moments and our intention is not to punish every misdemeanour. However, there are people who spend the entire match shouting abuse and spoiling the enjoyment of those around them.

The atmosphere created by our fans around the stadium on match days just now is exceptional and we want to continue and encourage that trend.

We have made a decision to clamp down on people who behave in this unacceptable manner and over the next few matches we will be warning and, if necessary, removing the culprits.

Your assistance in making this a redundant task would be much appreciated.

The SPFL guidelines are as follows:

Under SPFL rules in respect of Ground Safety, Behaviour at Matches and Damage to Stadia, each club must ensure that its players, officials, supporters and any other persons connected with the club do not engage in unacceptable conduct at a stadium on the occasion of an official match.

Unacceptable conduct covers conduct that is violent and/or disorderly. This includes, but is not limited to: actual, attempted or threatened physical violence against a person or persons, intentional damage to property, using threatening, abusive or insulting words or conduct, displaying writing or any other things which is deemed threatening, abusive or insulting.

The Club have a duty fulfil these rules or face sanctions from the SPFL such as a fine or points deduction.

St Mirren F.C. accepts its responsibility under these rules and will not tolerate any form of unacceptable conduct as detailed above. Any supporter who engages in such activity will be liable for sanctions imposed by the Club which may include withdrawal of season tickets, exclusion from future matches involving the Club or, in the event of persistent offending, an application being made towards a football banning order.

Morgan: Honour to be called up

Lewis Morgan is a man bang on form.

The young winger took his goal tally to eight for the season after he scored a double in Sunday's win over Queen of the South.

He then celebrated that with the news that he has called up to the Scotland U21 squad for the upcoming qualifiers against England and Latvia.

Morgan has impressed while on international duty, picking up two man of the match awards for the 21s.

And he is excited to get the opportunity to test himself against some of the best young talent England have to offer, while believing his club form gives him a boost going into the qualifiers.

Speaking to stmirren.com after the news that he had been selected, Morgan said: "I didn't even know I was in it!

It's always an honour to be called up and I'm looking forward to it. There are loads of big games but the game against England is the one you probably look forward to most in the group. That's always one that's going to get more press involvement and hype about it, but we'll certainly be positive going into that and hopefully we can take something again.

"I think I just have confidence at the moment. At the weekend I wasn't feeling great but I still managed to get two goals and I was happy with my performance and the team performance. It always helps when you are going away international that you are coming off a good spell at club football.

"It's a lot different to what we are facing week-in, week-out. I still think physically this league is more demanding than what it is when you go away internationally. But I'm looking forward to the challenge and testing myself against players that are well thought of within their country."

Morgan's performances last season earned him rave reviews and the St Mirren Player of the Year award.

He's got his 2017/18 season off to a flyer and admitted he has set a target of 20 goals for this season after hitting 10 last season.

With September drawing to a close he is already almost 50% of the way towards his target with eight goals in 12 appearances this campaign and he joked that he might need to give it a rethink.

I said my target was 20 at the start of the season but I might have to revise that if I keep going the way I'm going," he laughed.

"20 goals for a winger is pretty unheard of so that's what I have set to do and if I surpass it then great.

"At the start of last season I was playing well but I wasn't getting goals. It's only been since the turn of the year that I have started consistently finding the net. Every game I go into now I'm hoping to get on the scoresheet.

"A hat-trick will be a long time coming. I've scored twice a couple of times and I think a few times I thought I was going to get that third goal. The way I'm playing now it's as good a chance to get one."

The Buddies are at home again as they host Brechin City at the Paisley 2021 Stadium this Saturday.

Despite the Angus side sitting bottom of the league without a victory so far, Morgan says the side won't be complacent and says Saints' relegation battle last season is enough to remind the side they can't take anyone lightly.

I heard at the weekend against Dunfermline they started the better team. I watched the highlights and they were really pressing to get the first goal.

"In this league there are no surprises. We've been down the bottom so we know teams can be down there that don't deserve to be so we won't be taking it different to any other team."

U20s draw with Falkirk

The St Mirren U20s had to settle for a point last night as they drew 2-2 with Falkirk in the SPFL Development League.

The Buddies took an early lead when Gregor Buchanan headed Jordan Kirkpatrick's corner into the path of Dylan McKendry who nodded home.

Saints doubled their lead in the second half when a long pass caught out the Falkirk defence. Cameron MacPherson was quickest to react as he slid the ball under the legs of Falkirk keeper Robbie Mutch.

The home side got themselves back into the match when Scott Shepherd reduced the deficit on 78 minutes as he broke away from the Saints defence to lash the ball home.

And with time nearly up, the young Bairns grabbed themselves an equaliser when Saints goalkeeper Ross Stewart failed to gather Conor Langton's low effort with the ball spilling into the net.

It's cup action next for the young Buddies as they face Heriot Watt-University in the second round of the SFA Youth Cup at the Excelsior Stadium on Friday night at 7pm.

Come and back Paisley 2021 bid with a mass sing-a-long

Music and football fans are being asked to voice their support for Paisley’s 2021 UK City of Culture bid with a mass sing-a-long at the Paisley 2021 stadium.

Local band Lemonhaze – themselves Saints fans – will take to the stage before this Saturday’s clash with Brechin City in the Ladbrokes Championship.

The event comes just hours after Paisley’s bid is submitted to the UK Government’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport on Friday (Sep 29).

Fans are invited to come down at 2pm to the south east corner of the Paisley 2021 stadium, next to the new SiMSA wall.

A face painter will add to the family fun on offer and the St Mirren drummer will also be making an appearance.

The free pre match event, which is not ticketed and open to all, is also being filmed.

Co-ordinator Tommy McGrory, who runs Paisley charity, Loud ‘n’ Proud, said: "It’s going to be a lot of fun. We’re hoping all the fans will join in and wave their Paisley 2021 flags in support of the bid. Lemonhaze are all St Mirren fans themselves and can’t wait."

Lemonhaze, who supported fellow Paisley boy Paolo Nutini at Edinburgh’s Hogmanay party, will play their own material from 2pm before switching to St Mirren songs and football chants.

They will end on a high note with the Skids number, ‘The Saints Are Coming’, the song which will always heralds the team’s arrival onto the pitch.

The club have been doing a special free tickets offer for the game itself with local schools able to apply for vouchers allowing entry for up to two adults and 20 children.

Saints Chairman Gordon Scott said: "It will be a real celebration and a great send off for the bid which goes just a few hours earlier on Friday. I hope everyone comes along to support both the bid and the club. It’s such a positive thing."

The bid is part of a wider push to use Paisley’s unique heritage and cultural story to transform the whole of the Renfrewshire area.

Paisley is the only Scottish location on the shortlist for the UK City of Culture 2021, alongside Coventry, Stoke, Sunderland and Swansea.

Paisley 2021 Bid Director Jean Cameron said: "It’s fantastic to have Paisley’s football team supporting the bid in the week that we send it off.

"It’s a great example of how the whole community is backing the town as UK City of Culture 2021.

"We’d also like to wish St Mirren well for a continued unbroken home run!"

Jamie McCart: Fans were incredible

Jamie McCart was full of praise for the St Mirren support after making a winning start to life at Saints on Sunday.

The defender, who has joined the Buddies on an emergency loan until December, was given his debut in Sunday's 3-1 win over Queen of the South.

While it may seem a daunting prospect for a young player to be thrown into a team he had only joined two days earlier, the 20 year-old confessed one training session was enough for him to get acquainted with his teammates.

Speaking to stmirren.com after the weekend win that moves Saints back up to second place, McCart said: "I really enjoyed it.

The main thing was to get the three points and to do it in such a great ground was brilliant for me.

"I thought we handled them well as a back four and we won't face many tougher than that in the Championship. We were disappointed not to get the shut out, but the three points was the main thing.

"As soon as I came in everyone was very welcoming. I knew after the first training session what the manager's philosophy was and what the players around me were like. It wasn't difficult for me.

"I just want to play well, try to stay in the team and help the team get victories. If I am lucky enough to play then hopefully I can contribute to the team and see where we are when I leave.

Despite being rescheduled for TV coverage, a crowd of 3023 turned up at the Paisley 2021 Stadium to cheer on both sides.

And the loanee can't wait to be back in front of the Paisley faithful for this weekend's match against Brechin City.

It was a brilliant experience playing here," he said.

"The atmosphere was incredible and the fans were right behind us. It's exciting times and to be playing week-in, week-out would be great for me.

"We'll have a good week of training and then be back here fighting to get another victory."

U20s face Falkirk tonight

The St Mirren U20s travel through to Falkirk this evening as they take on the Bairns' U20s in the SPFL Development League.

The young Buds are back in action after picking up their first league win of the season two weeks ago as they defeated Hearts 3-0 at the Paisley 2021 Stadium.

Tonight's match takes place at the Falkirk Stadium and will kick off at 7pm

Josh Todd to undergo surgery

St Mirren manager Jack Ross has confirmed that Josh Todd will undergo surgery on his shoulder next week.

The 24 year-old midfielder suffered a dislocated shoulder during pre-season training and aggravated the injury in Sunday's 3-1 win over Queen of the South.

All at St Mirren wish Josh a safe and speedy recovery.
