Visitor Information

  • Electronic Ticketing System

At the SMiSA Stadium we have an electronic ticketing system in place at the turnstiles.

The process of using the system is fairly straight-forward and easy to use:

    • On entering the turnstile you will see the ticket reader.
    • Place your match ticket (with the barcode or QR code facing upwards) or smartcard – into the aperture
    • Once the ticket/smartcard is accepted into the system the green light will illuminate and an audio alert will sound after which you should hear the turnstile being unlocked
    • Push the turnstile gate and enter the stadium as you normally would.

The whole process will only take a few seconds.

Please note that there will be stewards in attendance to help where required.

  • Street Parking on Matchday

The Club has been made aware of problems occasioned by inconsiderate parking in the area of Tannahill Road.

Seemingly supporters are parking despite the presence of double yellow lines and as a consequence local bus routes are also being blocked because streets in this area are narrow and fans are parking on both sides. People, many of whom are elderly, are having to walk from Greenhill Road to their homes because buses can’t get access.

Residents who have cars parked in driveways are experiencing similar difficulties getting their vehicles in and out. On being approached by local residents some supporters have been somewhat aggressive which could lead to confrontation.

St Mirren Football Club strives to be a good neighbour and we would ask that ALL supporters attending the stadium not only park in accordance with local parking restrictions but also give consideration to the needs of local residents by parking sensibly so as not to occasion an unnecessary obstruction.

  • Picking Up & Dropping Off by Car on Match Day

We are also aware of problems with patrons parking at the front of the Main Stand to pick up disabled supporters at the end of the game. This area is a 'no parking' zone on match days (with cones on the road) and has to be kept clear for emergency access. It is an inappropriate location for disabled spectator uplifts, as not only does it cause an obstruction on the road, it also causes a danger to pedestrians leaving the stadium.

Please note that the designated pick-up/drop off points are either in Drums Avenue or the two lay-byes on Ferguslie Park Avenue.

  • Finding the SMiSA Stadium

  • Getting to the SMiSA Stadium

    BY ROAD

Follow signs for Paisley & Glasgow Airport. Exit the M8 at Junction 29 (St James’ Interchange) which is just after Glasgow Airport turn off if travelling east to west. Be careful not to exit on to the A737 which is signposted for Irvine. It is best to stay in the middle lane when passing the Airport as this leads naturally to the St James’ Interchange exit.

At the interchange take the first left onto a dual carriageway with some football parks on the left hand side. Follow this road and after a sharp right hand bend you should now be in Greenock Road. Then take your first right on to Clark Street and drive to the end of the street which is the junction with Greenhill Road, turn left and you will see the stadium on the opposite side of the road.

    BY RAIL

Get train from Paisley Gilmour Street to Paisley St James – exit from the station is straight onto Greenhill Road where the stadium is facing you. To plan your journey by rail with Scotrail please click HERE.

    BY BUS

Most buses will stop at Paisley Cross or Mill Street, from both you will see the Paisley Town Hall. From the Town Hall cross the High Street towards the Piazza Shopping Centre, when acoss walk towards the town centre until you come to Gilmour Street. Turn right on to Gilmour Street and walk towards the railway station which is about 150 yards away. From there you can get train to Paisley St James or if you prefer to walk the following routes are advised by the police:

Home fans: cross road to the left on to St James Street – follow through up Underwood Road then turn right at Greenhill Road where stadium is 200 yards further along the road. Access to the Main Stand is from Greenhill Road and the South and West Stands will be accessed from Drums Avenue.

Away fans: cross road to Love Street continue up the street till you come to Albion Street where you will turn left. Follow Albion Street until you come to the junction with Greenock Road where you will turn right. Cross the road then walk about 200 yards before taking your first left on to Clark Street. Walk straight up Clark Street to the end of the street which is the junction with Greenhill Road, turn left and you will see the the stadium on the opposite side of the road. Access to the North Stand will be from Ferguslie Park Avenue.

Game plan out of the window with red card says manager

Stephen Robinson admits Declan Gallagher's early red card changed game but the second and fourth Aberdeen goals were preventable in defeat.

Defeat to Dons for 10-men St Mirren

10-men St Mirren endured a tough afternoon at Pittodrie as we were beaten in Aberdeen.

Declan Gallagher was sent off after just 22 minutes following two yellow cards and Aberdeen took full advantage to go 3-0 up at half-time. Saints dug in and pulled a goal back early in the second-half, but substitute Luis Lopes added a fourth as the Dons picked up all three points.

There were three changes to the side that lost narrowly to Motherwell last week. Scott Tanser and Mark O'Hara missed out through injury to be replaced by Richard Tait and Greg Kiltie, while Curtis Main made his first start of the season in place of Alex Greive.

Saints had started fairly well with Kelle Roos having to get a strong hand to push away a Main ball across the face of goal with a Dons defender getting a toe in just before Ayunga could get on the rebound. Before that Gallagher had been booked for a late challenge on ex-Saint Hayden Coulson who had to be substituted after being injured in the tackle.

10 minutes later the Buddies defender was given his marching orders for a second yellow. Vicente Besuijen cracked the post from 20 yards and Gallagher was adjudged to have blocked Liam Scales' follow-up attempt with his hand. Bojan Miovski stepped up to notch the resulting penalty into the net to give Aberdeen the lead.

Aberdeen took control of the match after the red card and threatened a second with Scales heading just inches wide on two occasions. The Dons - and Miovski - would get their second with eight minutes of the first-half remaining. The forward scored again as he nipped in ahead of Trevor Carson and Charles Dunne to divert a low Jonny Hayes cross into the net.

The home side added a third on the stroke of half-time in spectacular fashion. Miovski, looking for his hat-trick, was denied by a good block from Carson. Matty Kennedy was first on to it and played the ball back to Aberdeen debutant Leighton Clarkson who fired a stunning strike into the top corner from 25 yards.

Stephen Robinson made a change at half-time with Ryan Flynn introduced in place of Curtis Main.

After Carson made another decent stop to Miovski his hat-trick, Saints started working their way into the game with Keanu Baccus shooting wide from 20 yards after a good counter from Kiltie. And the Buddies would pull a goal back through Ayunga from the penalty spot on 53 minutes. Jonny Hayes fouled Kiltie in the Dons box and Ayunga scored from 12 yards to net his fifth St Mirren goal since joining from Morecambe in the summer.

But Aberdeen still had the man advantage and looked to make that count with Carson making two big saves on the hour mark to keep the deficit at two. The Northern Ireland international blocked Miovski's effort before getting a strong hand on a powerful strike from Besuijen.

Aberdeen would have to end the match with 10 men also with Callum Roberts going off injured on 82 minutes after the Dons had made all their stoppages. But any hopes of Saints pulling a second goal back to make the final minutes interesting were extinguished when Lopes broke the offside trap and deftly lifted the ball over Carson on 87 minutes to see the game end 4-1 to the hosts.

Use of Pyrotechnics

Supporter safety is a key priority for all clubs and we at St Mirren Football Club are committed to doing everything we can to ensure that the match day experience is safe and enjoyable.

One of the most dangerous things we have to deal with is pyrotechnic articles such as smoke bombs and flares in the stadium and we'd ask that you assist us to look after you by not bringing such articles with you to any matches home or away. These articles can cause severe burns, damage to hearing or breathing difficulties and the hazardous chemical used is known to be carcinogenic and their use is especially distressing for groups such as small children and those who can't easily move away when pyrotechnics are activated.

Experience shows that when a pyrotechnic is activated in a crowd there is often a movement away from the immediate area which can cause panic and disorientation and which creates a risk of slips and trips or crushing for those nearby.

Please be in no doubt that these articles are unpleasant and potentially life-threatening to be around - they are also illegal at football matches - and being caught with them will result in exclusion from The SMISA Stadium and a possible criminal conviction as well as potential financial penalties for the club.

Ukrainian families welcomed to the SMiSA Stadium

The club was delighted to welcome several Ukrainian families to Sunday’s match against Motherwell as part of our ongoing community engagement efforts.

Working with Street Stuff and the resettlement team at Renfrewshire Council, more than 30 Ukrainians took in our cinch Premiership opening day match.

They were welcomed to the SMiSA Stadium - along with staff, volunteers and patients from ACCORD Hospice - as the first recipients of our new Help a Buddie initiative. Post-match they also had the opportunity to meet some of the St Mirren players pitchside.

Help a Buddie is our brand-new initiative where St Mirren supporters have the chance to purchase and donate a match ticket for those less fortunate.

Due to the support for Help a Buddie so far we will be able to allocate a minimum of 15 tickets per league match that will be shared amongst some of the most vulnerable in our community and give them a chance to come along to the SMiSA Stadium where they might not have had the opportunity before.

The Help a Buddie scheme will run for the entirety of the 2022/23 season and will continue to help benefit local community groups/organisations and those less fortunate supporters. If you want to Help a Buddie please click HERE to donate a match ticket.

Up Next: Aberdeen v St Mirren (6th Aug)

St Mirren travel to Aberdeen on Saturday for our first away day of the 2022/23 cinch Premiership season.

The Buddies go into Saturday's match against Jim Goodwin's Dons off the back of an impressive performance against Motherwell, but one in which ultimately Saints had nothing to show for their efforts. A first-half Kevin Van Veen penalty and inspired performance from 'Well goalkeeper Liam Kelly meant Saints were left empty-handed on the opening day of the season.

Aberdeen were beaten by champions Celtic on the opening day with the Dons falling to a 2-0 defeat at Celtic Park.

Beyond that loss Jim Goodwin's side have been in good form - winning all four of their Premier Sports Cup group stage matches defeating Peterhead (2-0), Dumbarton (2-0), Stirling Albion (5-0) and Raith Rovers (3-0).

Saints also took a point on their last visit to Pittodrie after a 0-0 draw on the closing day of the 2021/22 season which saw Stephen Robinson's side finish above the Dons in the cinch Premiership.

Aberdeen did win one of the four meetings of the two sides last season - defeating Saints 4-1 at Pittodrie in December.

2022/23 Away Kit Update

After the incredible launch of our 2022/23 away kit we can confirm that the St Mirren club shop have requested another order from Joma and are awaiting their response.

The unprecedented demand for our away kit has meant the club achieved record sales with almost FIVE times the sale of last season’s away kit. The club shop have been in continued dialogue with Joma as they look to secure another batch of kits.

We thank everyone that has purchased one of our home or away shirts ahead of the new campaign for their support of the club. We will continue to update supporters on the availability of away kits when we have more news.
