St Mirren FC celebrates International Women's Day 2026

On International Women's Day, we want to thank the women who are integral to our club, and to highlight the hard work that they undertake behind the scenes, supporting St Mirren FC.

Today, we will be shining a spotlight on the women working both as part of our operational team, and our volunteers.

Lynsey McLean, General Manager at St Mirren, said: "International Women's Day is a day to celebrate women across the world and their incredible achievements.

At St Mirren FC we want to recognise and shine a spotlight on the women who work hard behind the scenes in the club across various operations, in the lead up to, and during match days.

"Being a role model for the future generation of women in football is something that I take personal pride in and will continue to champion."

This year's theme is Give To Gain and emphasises the power of mutuality and support. It encourages people, organisations and communities to give opportunities and support women. When women thrive, we all rise. Contributing to women's advancement helps create a more supportive and interconnected world.

Keith Lasley, Chief Operating Officer at St Mirren, said: "We are proud to celebrate International Women's Day and champion the women of St Mirren FC.

"Today is an opportunity for all of us to recognise the hard work and dedication of those who contribute so much to our club."

Visitor Information

  • Electronic Ticketing System

At the SMiSA Stadium we have an electronic ticketing system in place at the turnstiles.

The process of using the system is fairly straight-forward and easy to use:

    • On entering the turnstile you will see the ticket reader.
    • Place your match ticket (with the barcode or QR code facing upwards) or smartcard – into the aperture
    • Once the ticket/smartcard is accepted into the system the green light will illuminate and an audio alert will sound after which you should hear the turnstile being unlocked
    • Push the turnstile gate and enter the stadium as you normally would.

The whole process will only take a few seconds.

Please note that there will be stewards in attendance to help where required.

  • Street Parking on Matchday

The Club has been made aware of problems occasioned by inconsiderate parking in the area of Tannahill Road.

Seemingly supporters are parking despite the presence of double yellow lines and as a consequence local bus routes are also being blocked because streets in this area are narrow and fans are parking on both sides. People, many of whom are elderly, are having to walk from Greenhill Road to their homes because buses can’t get access.

Residents who have cars parked in driveways are experiencing similar difficulties getting their vehicles in and out. On being approached by local residents some supporters have been somewhat aggressive which could lead to confrontation.

St Mirren Football Club strives to be a good neighbour and we would ask that ALL supporters attending the stadium not only park in accordance with local parking restrictions but also give consideration to the needs of local residents by parking sensibly so as not to occasion an unnecessary obstruction.

  • Picking Up & Dropping Off by Car on Match Day

We are also aware of problems with patrons parking at the front of the Main Stand to pick up disabled supporters at the end of the game. This area is a 'no parking' zone on match days (with cones on the road) and has to be kept clear for emergency access. It is an inappropriate location for disabled spectator uplifts, as not only does it cause an obstruction on the road, it also causes a danger to pedestrians leaving the stadium.

Please note that the designated pick-up/drop off points are either in Drums Avenue or the two lay-byes on Ferguslie Park Avenue.

  • Finding the SMiSA Stadium

  • Getting to the SMiSA Stadium

Follow this road and after a sharp right hand bend you should now be in Greenock Road. Then take your first right on to Clark Street and drive to the end of the street which is the junction with Greenhill Road, turn left and you will see the stadium on the opposite side of the road.

Scottish Cup Form

Saints reached the quarter-final stage after victories away to Livingston and Airdrieonians in the fourth and fifth rounds respectively. It's the first time the Buddies have reached this stage since facing Hearts at Tynecastle in the last eight in 2022.

It took penalty kicks for Saints to overcome Livingston at The Home of the Set Fare Arena in the fourth round. Roland Idowu's early goal was cancelled about by a Scott Arfield equaliser with the game going to the distance after neither side could be separated after 120 minutes. The Buddies prevailed 4-3 on penalties to set up a fifth round tie away to Championship side Airdrieonians. Jacob Devaney gave us the lead at the Albert Barlett Stadium before we were pegged back by the Diamonds in the second-half. Extra-time was required with Idowu scoring with only five minutes remaining to send us into the quarters.

Partick Thistle's Scottish Cup journey began at the third round stage in November. The Jags defeated Forfar Athletic 2-0 at Station Park thanks to goals from Ben Stanway and Alex Samuel. The fourth round saw Thistle square off against Montrose at Firhill with a Tony Watt double and an injury-time Ricco Diack strike seeing Mark Wilson's side win 3-1. Thistle - who sit second in the William Hill Championship - reached the quarter-finals following a 3-2 win away to Elgin City in the fifth round. Robbie Crawford, Watt and Stanway scored the goals as the Jags edged out the League Two outfit at Borough Briggs last month.

Saints architects of own downfall in defeat at Tannadice

St Mirren's search for a win on the road continues after a 2-1 defeat to Dundee United at Tannadice.

Saints were architects of their own downfall after a Marcus Fraser own-goal and penalty for handball were enough for United to claim the points.

The home side took the lead with just nine minutes played. Vicko Sevelj's strike was well saved by Shamal George after the Saints stopper got two strong hands behind it. The ball bounced in the area where Marcus Fraser unfortunately got it wrong as he headed into his own net.

Captain Mark O'Hara passed up a huge opportunity to draw us level a little over five minutes before the break. Fraser's deep cross from the right found the skipper whose excellent touch opened up the chance. But he slashed his strike wide of target.

Manager Stephen Robinson introduced Jake Young in place of Idowu at the break. The striker's impact was immediately felt as he drew Saints level on 47 minutes with his first goal for the Buddies. A wide free-kick from Tanser bounced in the box before falling to Young who beautifully guided it into the far corner to equalise.

United looked to respond quickly and almost did so on 50 minutes when their captain Ross Graham headed a corner just wide of target.

Neither side was able to take control in the contest on what was a difficult surface at Tannadice. Saints came close to taking the lead on 66 minutes when Killian Phillips rose highest to meet a header but saw his effort come off the post before the home side could clear. Amar Fatah should have put United back in front two minutes after with a header of his own. He was found unmarked inside the box but he nodded well wide.

Both sides continued to push heading into the final 15 minutes with an O'Hara corner causing mayhem in the United box. The ball bobbled around with Gogic the closest to finding the target, but he couldn't force through a ruck of bodies before the danger was eventually dealt with by the hosts.

With less than 10 minutes remaining, United were awarded a penalty for a Gogic handball. The Cypriot looked to have been claiming for an offside as the ball came into the box and it struck his out-stretched arm. A lengthy VAR check ensued with questions over offside, but nothing was doing and the penalty was given. Fatah struck high into the net to seal the points on another disappointing away day for the Saints.

Form

The Buddies picked up a point away to Livingston on Saturday as we remain in 10th place in the William Hill Premiership. Dan Nlundulu's first-half header gave us the lead before Brooklyn Kabongolo levelled to grab a share of the spoils for Livingston. That draw put to an end a three match run of defeats for Saints in the William Hill Premiership.

A win on Tuesday night would see Saints move to within three points of United who sit in seventh place in the William Hill Premiership. United know that a victory would see them go nine points ahead of Saints and 12 clear of the relegation play-offs. Jim Goodwin's side were defeated at the weekend after a 2-0 loss away to Motherwell. That followed home draws with Aberdeen (0-0) and Kilmarnock (1-1).

Both sides boast a win apiece in our two meetings this season. Saints were victorious when the sides met at The SMiSA Stadium in December with Conor McMenamin and Keanu Baccus scoring in a 2-0 win. Dundee United picked up the points at Tannadice in October when they defeated 10 men Saints 3-1.
