Visitor Information

  • Electronic Ticketing System

At the SMiSA Stadium we have an electronic ticketing system in place at the turnstiles.

The process of using the system is fairly straight-forward and easy to use:

    • On entering the turnstile you will see the ticket reader.
    • Place your match ticket (with the barcode or QR code facing upwards) or smartcard – into the aperture
    • Once the ticket/smartcard is accepted into the system the green light will illuminate and an audio alert will sound after which you should hear the turnstile being unlocked
    • Push the turnstile gate and enter the stadium as you normally would.

The whole process will only take a few seconds.

Please note that there will be stewards in attendance to help where required.

  • Street Parking on Matchday

The Club has been made aware of problems occasioned by inconsiderate parking in the area of Tannahill Road.

Seemingly supporters are parking despite the presence of double yellow lines and as a consequence local bus routes are also being blocked because streets in this area are narrow and fans are parking on both sides. People, many of whom are elderly, are having to walk from Greenhill Road to their homes because buses can’t get access.

Residents who have cars parked in driveways are experiencing similar difficulties getting their vehicles in and out. On being approached by local residents some supporters have been somewhat aggressive which could lead to confrontation.

St Mirren Football Club strives to be a good neighbour and we would ask that ALL supporters attending the stadium not only park in accordance with local parking restrictions but also give consideration to the needs of local residents by parking sensibly so as not to occasion an unnecessary obstruction.

  • Picking Up & Dropping Off by Car on Match Day

We are also aware of problems with patrons parking at the front of the Main Stand to pick up disabled supporters at the end of the game. This area is a 'no parking' zone on match days (with cones on the road) and has to be kept clear for emergency access. It is an inappropriate location for disabled spectator uplifts, as not only does it cause an obstruction on the road, it also causes a danger to pedestrians leaving the stadium.

Please note that the designated pick-up/drop off points are either in Drums Avenue or the two lay-byes on Ferguslie Park Avenue.

The Opposition

Dundee United have made an impressive return to the William Hill Premiership with Jim Goodwin's men sitting in third place after 22 matches.

The Terrors have, however, lost their last two league matches after a 2-0 defeat to Celtic on Wednesday night followed a 1-0 loss at home to Hearts on Sunday.

There has already been three meetings between the two sides this season and while there hasn't been much in the matches, United have managed to win all three. The first came in August where United edged Saints out of the Premier Sports Cup with a 1-0 victory at Tannadice. It was the same scoreline on the Terrors' visit to Paisley in October with a late Emmanuel Adegboyega goal giving Jim Goodwin's side the points. Adgeboyega was on the scoresheet again when two late goals saw United win 2-0 at Tannadice in November.

Our last victory against United came in October 2022 when Alex Greive scored a late winner in a 2-1 triumph for the Saints at The SMiSA Stadium.

St Mirren Annual Accounts (Year End 2024)

For a second successive year we are delighted to be able to report a year of significant progress for the club. There have been notable achievements across the board and the highlights are set out below in line with the strategy which we launched just over a year ago aimed at becoming The Best Community Centred Development Football club in Scotland.

Performance

Our league form resulted in our highest finish since 1984/85 and a long awaited return to European football via the UEFA Conference League qualifiers. We also reached the ViaplayCup Quarter Finals.

In terms of financial performance, the Operating Profit before depreciation, amortisation and interest of £65,089 (2022/23 £376.382 after remeasurement of Scottish Government interest free loan plus the exceptional receipt of the insurance settlement for The Dome) demonstrates a stabilisation in trading, assisted by increased attendances and improved prize money as a result of finishing 5th in the Premiership. Once depreciation and amortisation, interest payable and interest receivable are taken into consideration, this resulted in a Net Lossof £396,430 (2022/23 Loss £56,582). We are grateful to our fans who have backed the team in increasing numbers since we made the decision to retain three stands for home fans at all matches.

The financial results are all the more pleasing given that we have borne significant costs in terms of the well earned bonuses for players and management as a result of our Top 6 finish and European qualification. The income from the European matches will of course be reflected in the accounts for the year to 31 May 2025.

Finally we have been working more closely with our Women's team and Academy in the shape of greater financial support, training and match day kit, help with governance and sharing of methods on coaching and development.

So, overall a year of progress and achievement. This would not have been possible without the hardwork and
dedication of players, management, operational staff, volunteers, directors and our fantastic fans. Thanks to every one of you!

A copy of the club’s Annual Accounts can be found at Companies House.

Saints defeated at Celtic Park

St Mirren were beaten at Celtic Park as a double from Nicolas Kuhn, either side of an Auston Trusty header, saw the hosts win 3-0 in the William Hill Premiership.

Saints were organised in the opening part of the match, but their resistance was broken a little after the half hour mark when Kuhn opened the scoring with Trusty adding a second before the interval. Kuhn rounded off the scoring in second-half to see the points remain in Glasgow.

Stephen Robinson made five changes from Thursday's loss at Kilmarnock. Zach Hemming started in goals after returning to the club on loan on Friday with Ellery Balcombe recalled by Brentford. Elvis Bwomono, Mark O'Hara, Caolan Boyd-Munce and Greg Kiltie also came in while Alex Iacovitti, Oisin Smyth, Roland Idowu and Jonah Ayunga dropped to the bench.

Celtic, who lost their first league match of the season on Thursday when they were beaten 3-0 by Rangers, started quickly and looked to hit Saints on the break in the opening minute of the game. Kuhn tried to race away from the Buddies defence, but he was closely marshalled by Alex Gogic and Richard Taylor who denied the German a shooting opportunity. The hosts would win a corner from it though from which Adam Idah came close to an early goal when he headed Arne Engels' delivery just wide of the right-hand post.

Saints were well structured and looked fairly comfortable as they kept Celtic at bay. The closest the hosts came to opening the scoring in the opening 30 minutes was when Engels almost netted directly from a corner, with Hemming at full stretch to push over.

The home side found a breakthrough on 33 minutes when Kuhn opened the scoring. Daizen Maeda just beat the offside trap to race down the left channel before rolling the ball along the face of goal to Kuhn who slotted the ball under Hemming to make it 1-0.

The Buddies kept probing and had a decent opportunity to level when Toyosi Olusanya did well down the right-hand channel. He had Kiltie in a good area for the cut-back, but took the ball a step too far before sending into the box where Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel claimed.

Celtic doubled their advantage 10 minutes after their opener when Engels' corner met the head of Auston Trusty who nodded home.

Hemming made a good save with his feet early in the second-half to turn away an Engels effort that was deflected goalward by Idah.

Stephen Robinson made a triple change just after the hour mark with the introduction of Smyth, Ayunga and Owen Oseni in place of O'Hara, Kiltie and Olusanya. The Buddies best opportunity to reduce the deficit came just a few minutes later when a Smyth corner met Taylor, but his deflected header was pushed over by Schmeichel.

Celtic almost immediately went 3-0 ahead when they broke from the resulting Saints corner. Luke McCowan sent Kuhn scuttling away from Marcus Fraser, but Hemming did well to block the attempt. However, just seconds later, Callum McGregor's cross into the box found Engels. His backheel caused a mix up in the Saints defence in which Hemming couldn't gather as he collided with Fraser who looked to clear the ball. That allowed Kuhn to slot home his second and Celtic's third from close range.

Idah thought he'd added a fourth for Celtic five minutes later when, on 73 minutes, he tucked home after his initial effort struck the the bar, but he was flagged offside.

Saints substitute Ayunga had a big opportunity to add a consolation in the final minute when he outmuscled Cameron Carters-Vickers, but his effort was blocked by Schmeichel.

Ellery Balcombe recalled by Brentford

St Mirren Football Club can confirm that Ellery Balcombe has returned to Brentford FC after being recalled by his parent club.

The goalkeeper joined Saints on loan in the summer with Brentford retaining the option to recall the 25-year-old in January. The Bees have now exercised that option.

During his time in Paisley, Ellery made 26 appearances and kept three clean sheets.

St Mirren thanks Ellery for all his contributions during his time at the club and wish him all the very best in his future career.

Zach Hemming returns on loan for the remainder of the season

St Mirren Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Zach Hemming on loan from Middlesbrough until the end of the season, subject to clearance.

A highly-popular figure in Paisley following a successful loan spell last season, Zach becomes our second signing of the January transfer window as he returns to Saints for the remainder of season 2024/25.

During his time at St Mirren in 2023/24, Zach made 46 appearances, keeping 15 clean sheets as Saints finished in fifth place in the William Hill Premiership and qualified for the UEFA Conference League.

Zach spent the first half of this season on loan to Leyton Orient and will now spend the rest of the campaign in Paisley.

Speaking to stmirren.com, Zach said: "It's good to be back.

"I'm pleased that it got over the line and I'm here early in January. Hopefully we can get back into Europe or we can do as well as we did last season and see how it goes.

"It's like I've never been away. It was really pleasing to see few faces from here last year and obviously a few new faces. It was just good to get back training with the lads and obviously training with Langers.

"The family always watch the games and the kids still support St Mirren.

I had to a few decisions regarding where to go but as soon as St Mirren came in there was only one place I was going.

"I thought I played my part very well last year and I just loved being here. It's a great club, great people in it and everyone just welcomed you as soon as I walked through the door and that played a massive part in it."

Zach Hemming with a St Mirren scarf

Manager Stephen Robinson added: "We’re delighted to have Zach back.

"We think Zach is a very good goalkeeper that we've managed to get back again.

"We all know what he can do. He was very successful last season and we will be in discussions with Middlesbrough as we look at the potential of making it permanent at the end of the season.

My job is to make the squad as strong as we possibly can in every position. I believe bringing Zach in strengthens the squad and gives us another percentage in trying to stay in the top six.

"It allows us to look for a loan option for Peter [Urminsky]. We believe Peter will be a top-class goalkeeper but he needs games. Brentford also have a call-back option with Ellery [Balcombe] and that's up to Brentford what they do with that situation. But at the minute, we've got very good competition for goalkeepers."

Match Preview: Celtic v St Mirren (5th Jan)

St Mirren travel to Celtic Park on Sunday for our second away match of 2025.

The Opposition

Celtic suffered their first league defeat of the season on Thursday as they lost 3-0 against rivals Rangers at Ibrox. It was a first domestic defeat for Brendan Rodgers' men since March last year and saw their lead at the top of the William Hill Premiership cut to 11 points.

The Glasgow side have won their last five home league matches with the last two before 2025 seeing them defeat both St Johnstone and Motherwell by 4-0 scorelines.

Celtic were victorious in the only meeting of the two sides this season, with the Hoops winning 3-0 at The SMiSA Stadium back in August.

Saints' last victory at Celtic Park came in January 2021 when goals from Kristian Dennis and Ilkay Durmus saw us win 2-1 in Glasgow.
