Visitor Information

  • Electronic Ticketing System

At the SMiSA Stadium we have an electronic ticketing system in place at the turnstiles.

The process of using the system is fairly straight-forward and easy to use:

    • On entering the turnstile you will see the ticket reader.
    • Place your match ticket (with the barcode or QR code facing upwards) or smartcard – into the aperture
    • Once the ticket/smartcard is accepted into the system the green light will illuminate and an audio alert will sound after which you should hear the turnstile being unlocked
    • Push the turnstile gate and enter the stadium as you normally would.

The whole process will only take a few seconds.

Please note that there will be stewards in attendance to help where required.

  • Street Parking on Matchday

The Club has been made aware of problems occasioned by inconsiderate parking in the area of Tannahill Road.

Seemingly supporters are parking despite the presence of double yellow lines and as a consequence local bus routes are also being blocked because streets in this area are narrow and fans are parking on both sides. People, many of whom are elderly, are having to walk from Greenhill Road to their homes because buses can’t get access.

Residents who have cars parked in driveways are experiencing similar difficulties getting their vehicles in and out. On being approached by local residents some supporters have been somewhat aggressive which could lead to confrontation.

St Mirren Football Club strives to be a good neighbour and we would ask that ALL supporters attending the stadium not only park in accordance with local parking restrictions but also give consideration to the needs of local residents by parking sensibly so as not to occasion an unnecessary obstruction.

  • Picking Up & Dropping Off by Car on Match Day

We are also aware of problems with patrons parking at the front of the Main Stand to pick up disabled supporters at the end of the game. This area is a 'no parking' zone on match days (with cones on the road) and has to be kept clear for emergency access. It is an inappropriate location for disabled spectator uplifts, as not only does it cause an obstruction on the road, it also causes a danger to pedestrians leaving the stadium.

Please note that the designated pick-up/drop off points are either in Drums Avenue or the two lay-byes on Ferguslie Park Avenue.

  • Finding the SMiSA Stadium

St Mirren Women open season with emphatic win

St Mirren Women started their season in blistering fashion with a 14-0 win over Dundee West on the opening day of the Scottish Women's Football League One season on Sunday.

Helen McLeod scored four, Ceara McIntyre & Maxine Fury (pictured above) both netted hat-tricks, Francesca Blair added a brace, while Hannah Coyle and Kelly Ross also scored as the Buddies won in emphatic fashion on matchday one.

St Mirren Women manager Kate Cooper praised her side and told stmirren.com: "Over the close season we've got the players to really look at what goals we want to set.

"One of them is that we want them scoring more goals and another is that we want more clean sheets and to concede less goals so Sunday was a really good start.

Maxine scored a hat-trick, Ceara got a hat-trick, Helen plays more as an attacking midfielder and got four goals so it was good for us on Sunday to get their confidence up and be more clinical with our finishing.

"We are looking at small marginals and setting targets like how many minutes can we go without conceding and how can we build that up over the season. If we can really be defensively sound then that just gives us the extra edge in games where we can nick it.

"To be fair to Dundee West, the season probably just came a bit too early for them. It's difficult in the women's game. They had five players missing through work and holidays so it was a very young team that was out against us and probably just a wee bit inexperienced at this level. For us, we still had to go up and do the work and still keep up our level of game so that we could actually get the result."

Up next for Saints Women is an SWF Championship and League One Cup match against Stenhousemuir.

Stenny finished one place above Saints in SWF League One last season and Kate stressed that the players won't rest on their laurels after Sunday's big win.

The players will always tell you I don't let them get too far ahead," Kate said.

"All of our more offensive players got on the scoresheet so what we're really looking at is whether we can have that mentality. It's about what everybody is producing. I want to create that squad mentality. What's really important is that there are other players within the squad that can step up when needed.

"The biggest thing we'll take forward from it is confidence so can we keep that going into our next game.

"It will be hard. Going forward we have Stenhousemuir, Airdrie and Falkirk so our next three games will be really tough games."

Caolan Boyd-Munce is happiest he's been in football

Caolan Boyd-Munce says he's the happiest he's ever been in his football career.

The midfielder scored his first Saints goal on Saturday, with his brilliant finish securing a 1-0 win against Motherwell and sealing the Buddies' place in the quarter-final of the Viaplay Cup.

And he beamed as he spoke about how much he's enjoying his football.

It's comfortably the happiest I have been," he told stmirren.com.

"It's a different type of football than I've been used to.

"I've come from other clubs in England where it's been constantly about being on the ball, playing through the thirds and here is different. I'm really enjoying it, more than I thought I would have."

Caolan's early first-half strike was his first in the black and white and just his second career goal.

He admits it was made all the sweeter as it secured a last-eight tie against Hibernian next month.

It felt really nice but it was more satisfying that we held on for the win. The fact it was the winner was really satisfying.

"All I can remember is Mika (Mandron) hitting me and people screaming at me. It was some feeling as soon as it hit the net. When it left my foot I knew it was in. We could have and should have made it more comfortable.

"We knew after the Montrose game it wasn't us. But no one panicked. We just needed to do what we can do.

"I think the last six games you can see it starting to come but there's a lot more in the tank. We can be better at times on the ball, off the ball there are no questions. The work rate, the quality off the ball and defending is fantastic, but on the ball there is more to come."

The 23-year-old has had to be patient for his opportunity and an injury to captain Mark O'Hara has seen Caolan start both matches in the skipper's absence.

While he wants to impress, he was keen to stress that it's difficult to replace what Mark brings to the team.

I don't think anyone can really replace Mark because he brings so much leadership on the pitch.

"He's brilliant in the air, he's brilliant in the tackle, he was top goalscorer last season and he's a leader. I don't really think anyone can take his spot.

"I can only do my bit and between myself, Keanu, Mark, Flynny, Goga, we all have build a relationship and have to know how each other plays and what makes us tick. I feel like I'm doing it with all of them so once we're called upon we can only do what we can do."

Loan Watch: 21/08/2023

We have a number of our players out on loan. Here's a look at how some of them got on at the weekend.

Aiden Gilmartin scored a double for East Kilbride in their 9-0 win over Nithsdale Wanderers at K-Park on Friday night. The 18-year-old climbed off the bench at half-time and netted twice as EK secured their place in the second round of the South Challenge Cup in emphatic fashion.

Kieran Offord made his second start for cinch League One side Edinburgh City on Saturday. Despite losing to early pace-setters Hamilton Academical, Kieran was named Man of the Match for the Citizens.

Fraser Taylor impressed for NIFL Premiership side Ballymena United in their two matches last week. The 20-year-old started for the Northern Irish side in both their matches against Larne and Linfield. Despite defeats in both, the St Mirren Youth Academy graduate was singled out as impressing against the sides that finished in the top two of the NIFL Premiership last season.

A very good team performance says Diarmuid O'Carroll

I thought we were very solid throughout. It was a very good team performance."

Assistant manager Diarmuid O'Carroll gives his reaction to today's Viaplay Cup win against Motherwell.

Saints book place in quarter finals of Viaplay Cup

Saints made it through to the quarter-finals of the Viaplay Cup with a well-deserved win over Motherwell in Paisley.

The only goal came inside the first 10 minutes and was a screamer, Caolan Boyd-Munce running onto the ball and thundering it into the top corner from a good 20 yards.

Motherwell fought back after the break, Zach Hemming producing a great save from Theo Bair, but the better chances came at the other end with Conor McMenamin and Toyosi Olusanya to getting Saints' second. It never came but it didn't matter as Saints held out to make the last eight.

Stephen Robinson took the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach and stuck with the side that had started the previous week's win over Dundee, with Mikael Mandron leading the attack against his old club. Former Buddie Paul McGinn started for the visitors, who handed Davor Zdravkovski his first start.

The Buddies have been making quick starts to their games this season and did so once more against the Steelmen. As Ryan Strain tried to force his way through the Motherwell defence, the ball wouldn't quite sit up for him on his right foot and eventually trickled away from him. However, it sat up perfectly for Caolan Boyd-Munce, who ran onto it and thumped a tremendous shot into the top corner. It was the midfielder's first goal since his arrival in March and put Saints in front with less than nine minutes on the clock.

Keanu Baccus tried from a similar position midway through the half as the Motherwell defence backed off Saints' World Cup star, who fired just over the bar from distance. The Aussie then had a shot deflected wide as the hosts tried to crank up the pressure against a Motherwell side who hadn't threatened. Their first corner caused a bit of chaos and uncertainty in the Saints box before it was eventually dealt with and when the visitors finally did have a shot, Callum Slattery's ambitious effort was always going high and wide.

Mandron sent a volley trickling wide early in the second half before Saints goalie Zach Hemming was called into action for the first time, producing a superb finger tip save to keep out a great effort from Theo Bair, Dan Casey heading wide from the resultant corner. For the first time the visitors were beginning to ask questions of the Saints rearguard but the Buddies were still capable of causing problems at the other end, Mandron having a shot blocked after he did well to get on the end of Greg Kiltie's pass.

The home side – and some players were screaming for a penalty when Richard Taylor's header from Boyd-Munce's corner seemed to hit a Motherwell arm, however ref Willie Collum was unmoved – and with VAR not in operation the decision stood. McMenamin had a great chance to double Saints' lead when Mandron's flick at the half way line sent him charging towards the 'Well goal, however the visiting defence was able to get back just in time to crowd him out and his shot was blocked. Motherwell could then have been level, Stephen O'Donnell finding Mika Biereth and the sub slid the ball across goal only for it to be just beyond the reach of Conor Wilkinson at the back post.

As the game approached the final 10 minutes, Mandron was booked for barging into the back of Shane Blaney, giving the visitors a free-kick in a dangerous position, however Slattery sent it well over. A couple of minutes from the end Olusanya, who had replaced Boyd-Munce, was sent through on goal only to be pulled back by Bevis Mugabi. The defender escaped with a booking and the free-kick came to nothing. Some neat passing gave Olusanya the chance to finish things in stoppage time but Motherwell keeper Liam Kelly kept out his shot to ensure a tense final few minutes.

Tackles and bodies seemed to be flying everywhere as Saints tried to snuff out the danger, Charles Dunne booked for flattening Biereth and Paul McGinn cautioned for fouling Strain at the same incident. Strain was replaced by James Bolton as Saints tried to tighten up for the free-kick, which was easily dealt with.

In the final minute of added time Olusanya almost finished things off only to see his shot hit the post, Kiltie then putting the rebound over. It didn't matter as Saints were able to comfortably see out what little time remained to make it through to the draw with the quarter-finals.
